Tisarwat's weekend had been an excellent one, starting with her sangria night with Summer, tea and breakfast and books with Lucille the next morning, and then a handwavey because omg trip over to the forge to see Amaya, because why not round it out, especially in light of the news Summer had given her. It reminded her a little bit of life back on Athoek Station, where, sure, they were juggling a lot of things with Breq's mission and all the little personal politics interspersed with it, but those were nights when Tisarwat would be in contant social flux, dinner and drinking with the friends she was collecting, staying up late and then repeating it again the next day, making time for walks in the gardens to talk with Basnaaid before making it to some dinner engagement. Fandom was so much smaller than a station, and it would always be uncivilized and kind of dull, rustic and backwater, but it was nice to know there was still some hope to fulfil that particular craving in her.

And she'd come out of it with a new book to read on Lucille's recommendation, so she dove into it eagerly to pass the time at the music shop that day, already looking forward to conversations it might inspire once she'd finished it.
