Rey's warehouse- Friday afternoon
Rey didn't want to talk about it.
Which of course meant that she should be teased for the rest of her natural life.
But until anyone started doing that, she was getting in some practice with the remote, trying to apply what she could from Form VI while doing so, and trying to ignore that she still had one of those songs in her head.

However, in a town this small, she really wouldn't have expected a whole warehouse district. (And where were all the wares, if they needed them so badly?) So, naturally, she didn't get the right warehouse on the first try.
Annie lingered in the doorway for a moment to watch Rey - obviously, she was in the wrong warehouse and she'd keep looking around but...okay, that was also really cool, whatever that girl was doing with her floaty thing and her glowy sword. Maybe she was a wizard. (Annie was begrudgingly very interested in this whole 'wizards are real' thing, all right?)

Rey knew she was there, but since she didn't sense a threat, she waited for a good stopping point to lower her blade and say, "Hi."

She was looking around curiously as she explained - Rey having a British-sounding accent was totally not helping her 'wizard' assumption, either, even if it was just an unconscious bias on Annie's part.

Mad scientist probably checked out, though.

She offered a hand, stepping a little closer to do so. "I'm Annie, by the way."
no subject
"Rey. You're new?" Wild guess.

She waffled about whether to ask, and then just came out with it. "Like, I'm still learning - is it rude if I ask if you're a wizard?"
Annie would like to take 'Questions That I Never Imagined Asking a Week Ago' for $400, Alex.

"Not rude," she said. "But I'm not. I'm training to be a Jedi."
And because she knew that would also need an explanation, she added, "It's like a space warrior monk thing."
no subject
Annie's immediate reference for warrior monks was martial arts movies, though she decided a direct comparison might seem flippant and disrespectful. (Though was it really worse than asking if she was a wizard? Probably not.)
"And so that," she pointed to the remote, "is part of your training?"

She gestured to the obstacle course, the monstrosity that had a lot of space for huge jumps and actual quicksand, and said, "That, too."

She would. Maybe even on purpose. There just hadn't been time yet.

"Good. I hadn't realized how long it had been since that particular group had all been together. It was... nice." And she missed them like crazy.

Rey hadn't gotten that side of him.
