When Summer added 50% Off...Everything to the Specials Board that evening, Tino asked what the special occasion was, and she just sort of shrugged.

"I don't know," she admitted. "I just sort of felt people might need it today."

Thankfully, Tino felt no compulsion to argue with that logic.

As usual, Rey looked at the specials before taking her seat and asked, "Have we moved on to breakfast shots?"

"Bold of you to assume I base any of this on anything more than what's in my fridge and what pops up on google," said Summer with a crooked, cocky grin. "Though I'll admit, pie for breakfast is definitely a mood."

The grin softened a little as she pretty much already had the glass for a soda in hand.

"How's it going, Rey?"

"Good," Rey said, smiling as she noticed the glass already. "What about you? How'd you make out after everything blew up on Saturday?"

"Considering who I was on Saturday," Summer noted with a snort, "mostly just glad I didn't actually blow anything up."

She did have a history of that sort of thing, after all, even without transforming into an Amazonian action hero.

And since she was too busy trying to scout the bar for terrorists that night to fully appreciate the event for what it was at the time, she took a moment to reflect on it now.

"And you? Also, Dr. Pepper? Something else?"

"You look more like yourself than the last time I saw you," Annie - who also looked more like her usual messy-bunned, skinny-jeaned, human-shaped self - greeted Rey, wandering over once she had a drink.

"At least you could still talk," Annie offered, shrugging a shoulder. "Gotta say, that was some weird, weird shit, but it's still the best Halloween I've had in years."

Not finding anything of interest to her case on the island and with nothing else to distract her thoughts, Jessica decided to hit the bar that was recommended to her earlier in the week.

Upon entering she stared long and hard at the zombies. Yes. They were dead corpses with musical instruments. On the other hand they still looked a lot better than some of the people who hung out at Josie's bar on a Wednesday night.

Shrugging them off she headed to the bar and carefully studied the specials before looking over at Summer and nodding at her in recognition.

"Bourbon."

"Still here, huh?" asked Summer, with a faint grin and a nod back, while snagging a glass. "Neat, or on the rocks?"

A beat.

"Or just the whole bottle?"

"Neat," Jessica said with a small smirk. "So far I haven't found anything alarming. I'll probably be out before the end of the week."

She nodded her head back at the zombies. "They look healthy."

"They had a great month," Summer admitted, with a fond little smile toward the stage before pouring Jessica one of her patented Very Generous pours and setting the glass in front of her. "I haven't had to break out the duct tape in a while. Maybe the cooler weather helps with that?"

She shrugged a little.

"They know a stupid amount of songs, too, if you're feeling inspired."

She knew she was. These things were easy to tell on a small island.

"Visiting," Jessica said shrugging as part of the response. "On business. Is this place really that small you can tell when someone new walks onto this rock?"

"We're moving right into Thanksgiving from Halloween, I see," Annie said, eyeing the specials as she snagged a stool. "Though I guess props for not skipping right to peppermint stuff?"

"Yeaaah," said Summer, "I run the local general store. There's no way I'm skipping over a huge sales driver on the grocery side of things, and I am definitely going to put off even thinking about Christmas stuff for as long as physically possible. Still, these were actually not even intentionally themed, it just kind of happened that way."

She shrugged a little. "Can I interest you in one? I can tell you're totally eying the spinach one, but, if you're on the fence about it, would it help if I told you it also has cottage cheese?"

Annie made a very attractive gagging face, shaking her head. "I would love to go with a newly-seasonal pecan pie shot," she decided. "I'm gonna need, like, weeks to prep for the idea of something that sounds more like a frittata than a jello treat."

You know. It takes a lot to make Jessica choke on a drink. But seeing a woman walk in who looks and sounds exactly like Hope Schlottman would definitely do the trick.

And now she was just staring at the girl in a mixture of confusion and horror.

"How so?" asked Summer, with one nice, generic beer set down on the bar in front of Jesse almost perfectly in time with one nice, less-than-generic Jesse sitting down in her seat. "Little differences, or...?"
