Rey's warehouse- Friday afternoon
After the past few weeks, it actually felt a little boring to not have something weird happen today. Even the woodchucks seemed to be somewhere else, so it was a quiet afternoon in the warehouse, with Rey doing a run through the obstacle course that she knew could have been better, and then deciding to blindfold herself to try it again in case that helped.
It at least felt better, even if it had to look really strange to anyone who didn't know what she was doing.

Jealous? Definitely.

She was sort of compiling a list of people who could do their thing with their eyes shut. Barry had only made the one set of glasses!

And also, seriously, the course looked hard enough with eyes open that she was pretty clearly impressed at just the idea of doing it with one's eyes shut.

Not that she'd been trying, but now she knew not to try to throw Rey a surprise party or anything.
no subject
Because sometimes surprise was funnier."What's up?"

Because she was a little arrogant about her own abilities.

Thus, quicksand.

(She was wrong, but you know, that confidence had to count for something.)

"You can try it," she said, still sounding a bit like she was warning her. Because Rey herself hadn't been able to complete the course without using the Force.

And really, she did okay for a minute. She was pretty fast, and had the upper body strength needed to swing herself across the areas where that was necessary, and that rickety bridge didn't scare her at all after having to navigate rusty scaffolding a time or two.
What she did not have, however, was the ability to leap like a Jedi. So while Annie really gave it a good try, and did jump further than an average person would...she did end up falling.
Right into the quicksand. Which, really was probably for the best, since it gave her a nice, squishy landing.
