Caritas; Wednesday [11/11].
If being gifted a large variety of jello and rum wasn't a good excuse to really break out that jello shot maker Barry had made for her, especially today, well, she didn't know what was. The amount of prep work she put into having a wide variety of fruits to throw into this mix, too, was a little astounding, to the point where she kind of wondered where it was exactly that she went from being generally apathetic and jaded about most things to actually giving a shit and putting in effort, and then she remember, oh, right, validation and being around people who actually cared.
So that was nice!
And the shot maker was working great, and there were maybe a few other things she was hoping to accomplish that evening, so her mood was excited and excellent, and she barely even noticed the Christmas lights, but, if she did? She'd have probably decided she needed to add some nice sparkly garlands to them to really make them pop!

Re: The Bar - 11/11.
Not that she'd like, had to twist Annie's arm. Jello was fun.
Re: The Bar - 11/11.
... innuendo not intended.
Re: The Bar - 11/11.
The blended drink experiment on Monday had resulted in a really cranky Tuesday morning, yes. She was going to have to fine-tune that.
Re: The Bar - 11/11.
She trailed off for a second, then added: "Sorry, my universe can make you pretty paranoid."
Re: The Bar - 11/11.
And now she was looking down dubiously at her own glass, frowning.
Re: The Bar - 11/11.
She held up her beer. "Anything people have strong feelings about can kind of... go rogue."

Re: The Bar - 11/11.
That sort of made her sad.
Re: The Bar - 11/11.
Then she took a quick sip.
"Until they're in the middle of it, anyway."
Re: The Bar - 11/11.
Annie wasn't really all about the whole idea of covering big things up from the public, but she knew it happened.
Re: The Bar - 11/11.
Huh.
"You won't find it on the map," she continued, "because it was wiped out about seventeen years ago. But nobody ever believed me when I told them why, so I just... stopped."
A year in a psychiatric hospital would make anyone stop, really.

Re: The Bar - 11/11.
She spent too much time with Summer - not to mention Diego - to be that easily fazed anymore.
Re: The Bar - 11/11.
"My town was lost in an incident involving a slide projector that went rogue," she said, "unleashing an evil entity called Not-Mother who turned all of the kids in town into creatures called Dung Monkeys, except for a friend of mine, Neil, who got turned into a kind of... melted dog. All of the adults vanished the next day."
Re: The Bar - 11/11.
Meaning: you did not appear to be a Dung Monkey or a disappeared person, Jesse.

She took a thoughtful swig of her beer. If Annie wanted to interpret that as her digging at bad memories... sure, that was kind of accurate.
She was just also thinking about how to talk around the Bureau, and her powers, and... anything that might make people on this island actively uncomfortable.
"Dylan and I were the ones who found the slide projector, though we weren't the ones who let out the Not-Mother," she said. "We managed to get away in time because we had warning. Or, well... I did. Dylan was taken away by the people who came in to clean up. I spent seventeen years trying to find him and... make some sense of what happened. Which is how I know."

Re: The Bar - 11/11.
I shouldn't be so weirded out that people are this nice to me, but I'm just... this doesn't-- happen.
"I did," she said, "He... wasn't in a good place. There was an invasion, and... he's asleep now. For however long he needs to be."
