Devil's Nest, Saturday Night

Allie wasn't religious, but she still gave a small thank you to whatever diety watched over wayward vampires that she had not woken up with hooves this morning. She got to the bar and began to root around in search of large bowls. No sense risking the glassware this evening.

A pony walked into a bar.

"I'm glad you didn't get hit with this but it's also a little unfair," Kitty greeted her.

A better person would not have laughed. Allie...laughed. "I guess the island is letting me ease into the weirdness."

"And that's why it's unfair!" Kitty said, but she wasn't actually bothered. "How've you been?"

It was pretty clear how Kitty was.

"It obviously requires a drink to make up for the unfairness. What can I get you?" she asked. "And I'm good. I talked to Eric obviously, got my apartment back, and found out I can travel home just by crossing the causeway. So I don't think I can ask for anything more."

"Can I just get soda in a bowl? I don't want to test pony metabolism today," Kitty asked. "The part about getting home is especially good news."

One soda coming up. "It's good. I'll be able to get some supplies up to Eden that might help them out. That's something I might need your help with."

"Sure. Whatever you need," Kitty told her. "What kinds of supplies?"

"Computers. Supplies for a lab. Almost everything Eden has is from before Red Lung happened," Allie explained. "It's held together and working, but barely. If they got some new stuff, who knows what they could do."

"I can do that," Kitty said. "Actually should be able to help them with some of the equipment."

"That would be great. If I can get a portal set up. If not I'll be hauling it overland from here to..." She made a face, visualizing the map. "Up to Lake Erie. And I don't think you'd want to leave Lexi that long."

"It's not ideal, but as long as Clint's with her I can make it happen," Kitty told her. "It's nothing unlike what I might have to do for work."

"I appreciate that." But if all went well, it wouldn't be an issue. "So I have to ask, is there a tiny pony prancing around your place?"

"No. Thank god. She's turned into too many things already and I'm going to start to worry soon," Kitty said.

"I'm sure she'll be fine. We've turned into how many different things over the years and we're fine." Or at least all of the trauma they'd endured had actually happened when they were in their normal forms.

"Yeah, but she's so little," Kitty said. "What happens to your development when you keep turning into animals in your formative years?"

"You develop an amazing imagination and wind up a successful author when you're grown up?" Someone's love of books was showing through.

"I wouldn't mind that as long as the town doesn't permanently stunt her," Kitty decided.

"Aren't there other kids around?" Wasn't there a playground in the park? "Ask their parents."

"I don't think any of them had their baby turn into a doll before her first birthday..."

At least she hoped that wasn't a common thing.

Allie shuddered. "Okay, that's creepy. Why? What was the overall change on the island?"

"Were you here for anything the Toymaker did? He came back, turned us into literal toys," Kitty explained.
