Rey's warehouse- Friday afternoon

All right.

So.

Rey had kind of accidentally unleashed what turned out to be murder reindeer on some partygoers and she was really sorry about that and she'd find some way to make it up to people, but for the moment there was one in the warehouse. Because Anakin, like a very smart person, didn't bring home the one Rey had totally innocently tried to foist off on him.

"In my defense, I didn't think this would happen," Rey said quietly, opening the warehouse door.

"We always joke about things coming to life but this might be one of the first times it's happened," Anakin said, holding his lightsaber hilt out and ready.

"I didn't joke about this one," Rey promised, stepping inside.

It felt too quiet in here.

"I have a bad feeling about this," Anakin murmured.

[thatwaslucky]

"Where are the woodchucks?" she asked.

[sith_happened]

"Very good question," Anakin said, igniting his lightsaber.

[thatwaslucky]

Rey turned her own on, trying to spot it in the light.

And then she could hear a scraping against the floor, like something getting ready to charge.

"To the right," Anakin murmured, sliding in behind her to protect the rear.

[thatwaslucky]

Since she'd already dealt with one of these, she knew actually taking care of it was easy enough, and when it did start running at her she was prepared.

The reindeer veered off just out of reach of her blade, though, coming back around from the side.

"Tactically savvy killer reindeer," Anakin huffed. "What a strange year."

"This week is terrible," Rey said, which was kind of her mantra today, as it came roaring back.

"Well, it'll hopefully be over by Sunday?" Anakin said, stretching his feelings into the Force to see if the reindeer was alone.

[thatwaslucky]

"Let's hope," Rey said, though the last half of that was a little strained as she hit the reindeer with a particularly brutal slash.

[sith_happened]

"Good," Anakin praised, sinking his lightsaber into the reindeer's flank.

[thatwaslucky]

"Did not think I was going to spend my day killing fake reindeer," Rey grumbled.

"What were your plans instead?" Anakin said, whirling when he heard another non-woodchuck noise.

[thatwaslucky]

"Probably slicing up Christmas lights and getting hit by snow angels," Rey said, dropping her voice to listen better.

[sith_happened]

"The Christmas lights are extremely obnoxious," Anakin said. "They tied the dog up at breakfast."

[thatwaslucky]

"Is he okay?" She guessed so, but still had to check.

[sith_happened]

"Yes, but he was stuck on the ceiling for a bit."

Anakin paused. "He can fly, so he's used to being up there."

[thatwaslucky]

"Honestly he's probably better up there right now," Rey admitted.

[sith_happened]

"Think he's planning to stay there a bit," Anakin said, nodding.

[thatwaslucky]

"Smart," she said, pausing when she heard the non-woodchuck noise get closer. "On your left."

[sith_happened]

"Got it," Anakin said, reaching into the Forca and yanking a giant inflatable dreidel.

"Huh."

[thatwaslucky]

"I don't even know what that is," Rey said, frowning.

If you thought her understanding of Christmas was lacking, Hanukkah was way worse.

"I know a song about it--" he didn't, "--but I don't think it's supposed to be this large."
