Rey's warehouse- Friday afternoon

So.

Rey had kind of accidentally unleashed what turned out to be murder reindeer on some partygoers and she was really sorry about that and she'd find some way to make it up to people, but for the moment there was one in the warehouse. Because Anakin, like a very smart person, didn't bring home the one Rey had totally innocently tried to foist off on him.

"In my defense, I didn't think this would happen," Rey said quietly, opening the warehouse door.

"You could've done that five minutes ago!" Anakin shouted up at them.

"They are awful," she reminded him, keeping her voice low so she didn't get anything thrown at her head.

"The second worst," Anakin agreed.

After the inflatables.

Another piece of wood came flying anyway.

"We helped you!"

Maybe it was thank you wood.

"Do it one more time and we start throwing it back at you!" Anakin yelled.

[thatwaslucky]

"You know that doesn't end well for anyone, right?" Rey checked.

[sith_happened]

"Probably," Anakin said, "but they started it."

Meet Rey's "how old are we?" face.

Anakin had learned to recognize and ignore that same look for Obi-Wan for several decades and gave her a winning grin. "Yes?"

"We just fought an inflatable... top thing that wanted to eat us, we're not throwing wood at woodchucks," she said.

[sith_happened]

"Throwing wood back at woodchucks," Anakin corrected.

[thatwaslucky]

"Master, no," Rey said with a shake of her head.

Anakin sighed. "Very well."

It would've been fun, Rey!

"Besides, I have to spend my day hunting inflatable reindeer out of guilt," Rey admitted.

"They're can't be all yours," Anakin said. "You didn't buy a dreidel."

[thatwaslucky]

"No, but the other seven reindeer feel a little like my responsibility."

Some of them were Annie's.

"Didn't your neighbors get a few?" Anakin asked.

[thatwaslucky]

"At least one downstairs, one to one of the houses, Stark might have one, Annie took a couple, Liam took one for Nina..."

She could only feel so guilty about Nina, that closet was a whole thing.

So many flamingos. Just...so many.

"Well, I'll take care of any I see on my patrols," Anakin promised.

"Thank you. Maybe it's not that bad."

Yeeeeah.

Anakin arched up an eyebrow. "Really."

[thatwaslucky]

"I said maybe," Rey tried.

[sith_happened]

"I love your optimism," Anakin teased.
