Groovy Tunes; Tuesday [12/22].
Typically, when the island went a little crazy like it had in the last week, Tisarwat tried to stay out of it, so she supposed her weekend wouldn't have been that much different regardless, but the fact of the matter was that there was a big difference between choosing to hole up in your basement apartment while waiting for a crisis to blow over and being forced to hole up in your basement apartment the whole time because something (that something being a very large and immovable from the other side boulder of marzipan) had blocked your way out since pretty much Wednesday.
It was really putting into perspective for Tisarwat that, while being right there under the store was convenient in one way, there were some major drawbacks to her current living situation as well. Drawbacks with silver linings, sure, because as she sorted through inventory while catching up on all that happened through the radio broadcasts, she was quite fine with not having been involved in any of it, but she had still been trapped in a basement for several days...
She supposed, ultimately, though, that it was neither here nor there, and not something she'd hopefully have to worry about again for some time....

"Tisarwat? How are you?"
She did sound a little worried, something that rarely happened.

And at least this had all been a lot quicker than that one time she was trapped in a locker.
She really needed to stop getting trapped in things around here.
But the question had made her smile a little as she looked over at Lucille and returned the question back at her.
"How are you?"
no subject
It had actually been a bit exciting.
"But I'm sure you knew that already. Being trapped sounds horrible, did you have tea?"
no subject
"My supply was getting dangerously low," she said, although this was entirely hyperbole, "but there was enough to last me through the ordeal. And enough to make some for today, as well. Would you like some?"
Of course, she had already set aside her clipboard and was making her way toward the teaset over by the counter.

She hesitated, as if she was to say something more, but she reamined silent, just smiled again.

"At least it should be quiet again for a little while," she noted.

She got the distinct feeling that there might be something more to this oddly specific example, though.
"But I'd imagine, around here, if the island wanted to flood, it wouldn't exactly be half-hearted about it, would it?"

She paused.
"I do have a spare room in my apartment."
no subject
"Your apartment," she noted, "which is less suspectable to marzipan and floods."
Then there was a hesitation on Tisarwat's part, fiddling with the position of her cup, with her eyes cast toward it.
"Convenient as it is," she added, "the apartment here has felt pretty...empty since Breq left. Especially this last weekend."
Even if it conveniently allowed her to avoid some of the madness that had occurred, there were other ways to avoid that kind of madness that weren't so...
Well, not exactly solitary, with everything in her head, but that didn't help much, either.

She took a sip from her cup.
"And sometimes good company just makes things better."

"No need to decide on that now, of course, it just struck my mind."

Then she realised that might be an awkward reminder, and added hastily: "In proper amounts."
