Caritas- Tuesday

Look how normal it was here today! No marzipan boulders or anything! Kitty debated taking down the Christmas decorations a little early to be safe, but ultimately decided that they were at least pretty, so she could keep them up at least through the next holiday she had to prepare for.

Which also meant that today Kitty was looking up New Year's themed drink recipes. She'd put up flyers for the party already, so the rest was easy. Maybe it was worth ordering hats and 2021 glasses? Whatever those looked like?

Rosa had, briefly, considered a potential 'and that's what you get for decorating before December' angle in all of this, but honestly? It was all so stupid that it really didn't matter.

So, instead, what Kitty got when Rosa made it over to the bar was a simple, "So how'd you hold up?"
died8yearsago: (yup that sounds about right)

"I took photos of a castle and had to lock my dog in a closet to keep her from eating things," Rosa supplied, because, yep. That was pretty much all she did.

"So, you know," she added with a shrug, "if you ignore all the other crap, pretty normal week for me. Sorry about the evil inflatable reindeer, though."

"Just beer," Rosa decided, especially since absolutely nothing holiday themed probably went without saying.

"I wonder if by the time the new one gets here, she'll have pretty much already forgotten about it."

Kids did seem pretty dumb like that sometimes. Or, you know, most of the time, in Rosa's esteemed and clearly experienced opinion.

"Honestly, I'm surprised you bothered replacing it," said the woman who absolutely did not have to deal with a crying child, but also would probably still maintain the same position if she did, and would likely deal with that child the same way she dealt with the dog which is why Rosa was leaving that whole 'having children' business to her friends. "Seems like a good teaching moment. Like....'honey, you know we can't have inflatable reindeer anymore because sometimes they go crazy and try to kill everyone.'"

There was, however, a pause. Of inspiration.

"Or, alternatively, good time to teach her about using knives."

Lexi was totally old enough for knives now, right?

Rosa just shook her head, a faint grin playing at the corner of her mouth, as she lifted the beer in gratitude before having a sip.

"I'd say you coddle that kid," she said, "but damn if she isn't going to be one of the toughest kindergarteners out there."

"There's a lot to be said about versatility," Rosa pointed out, "and I'll be happy to your knife person. I'd actually love to be your knife person. All my sisters get all pissy about it when I try to teach their kids about knives. It's like, you guys are the ones who said you wanted me to bond with your kids more, what do you think I'm trying to do?"
