Stark Industries- Sunday

It was interesting how Rey never even questioned why she never turned little on these weekends. She was just always vaguely good with that, and more interested in seeing other people as kids anyway.

Today there were a bunch of different toys that needed fixing. For some strange reason. And given the kind of weekend it was, Rey was pretty intent on getting them done pretty fast so they could actually be used again.

She also kind of wondered how many would end up back here by the end of her shift...

"You know now that you've put that thought out into the world, your chances of being bombarded just astronomically increased?" Liam asked.

"Me neither," Liam said, shooting a fond look over to where Nina and Annie were now excitedly going over Nina's book. "Definitely preferable to being one myself, that's for sure."

"No tantrums from this one," he confirmed, with a nod in Nina's direction. "She's pretty easygoing." Honestly, the no tantrums combined with the fear of doing something wrong was... well, Liam didn't like it. He'd almost have preferred a tantrum or two. Not that he was going to go into as much, because he respected Nina's privacy on the matter.

"And I think Verity's just happy she doesn't need to compete with her brother and sister for attention, here." She seemed more or less fine 'sharing' Liam with Nina, thank god.

Liam emptied the contents of his jacket pockets out on the counter: several rocks, a couple sharp sticks, one (plastic) throwing star that he was reasonably certain would turn out to be one of Beau's actual throwing stars once the weekend was over, and a toy gun.

"Yup," he proclaimed, popping the 'p'. "She keeps bringing me weapons," he explained.

"Oh, no doubt about that," Liam said. "This whole weekend is one big training exercise, from her perspective."

"Huh," Liam said thoughtfully. "You know, that's actually a pretty good way to look at it."
