Atlas Gym, Monday (1/11)
Everything in the building seemed to be in order this morning -- Beau was having a hard time believing that was the case, unsurprisingly, but after a second and third inspection the equipment was all in working order and where it should be, there weren't any plumbing issues in the locker rooms, and the bottled water hadn't turned into grape soda or anything like that.
Honestly, it was kind of annoying. Even her morning spin class nemesis was managing a non-obnoxious level of existence, which might be throwing her more than anything.
Anyway, if anybody needed Beau she'd either be hitting the parkour course (which kept getting more and more advanced in tiny increments as her own technique improved; some of the jumps seemed to be really pushing it, distance-wise, and some of the timing-related elements had a sliver at best of a margin for error) or at the desk, trying to get the jump on some of her class reading.
The parkour course was nice to have for those inevitable moments where she got annoyed or bored with the reading and had to go work off some steam. So were the training dummies, for that matter.

handwavilyshe did, but for some reason Mondays was a really good day.Actually, she felt that she did have a good reason after this weekend, although things hadn't been terrible for her, especially since she had a roommate who was helpful even as a child
I assume."You seem to have a lot of energy," she said to Beau as she headed towards the weights section.

"Yeah, that's pretty much me all the time," she said, dropping into a crouch on top of the platform where she'd landed.

She walked over to the barbells.
"Is jumping on things something you do just for fun?"

If Beau had ever told her, it had been two years ago.

"Yeah, that's a good fuckin' question, isn't it?"
There was... clearly no further answer coming. Some information was best kept as bargaining material.

Also you didn't go around announcing that you were in training to be like a secret agent or a spy.
"So why ruin a good thing?" Beau ran along the edge of the platform and did a forward somersault down to land with both feet on a narrow railing. "Enjoy the mystery."

She could think of better words.

"I'm glad to know I don't have to be worried, then."
She mostly looked amused.

"I'll just have to deal with the snarky attitude."
Which was a lot better than Beau ever deciding to be mysterious at her, not that she thought that was ever going to happen.

"Oh no," she said lightly, looking up from her laptop and her books. "'sup, Liam."

Sure, when Verity had brought it to him it had been a plastic throwing star, but it had still looked familiar enough that Liam had a feeling about who it belonged to.

"Yeah, that's one of the set that Yasha and Caleb got for me in Zadash," she said, grinning faintly at the memory. Because she knew you'd had something to do with it despite claiming otherwise, Yasha. "I was wondering if I was short one."

it's the 3-year anniversary of the premiere so I get to be as nostalgic as possibleshe couldn't help remembering how she'd been an ass to Yasha back when she was trying to check their weapons at the carnival. Can I keep my stick? "Also, my fists are apparently ghost-punching weapons now."no subject
What were their lives that this was just... a sentence that could be said.

Liam, you were easily one of the tallest goddamn people on this island. There really wasn't anyone you could conceivably hide behind.

She said, like she didn't look forward to some yearly events around here.

Beau. Please don't smirk like that.

Still smirking.
