Caritas, Monday
After some time on YouTube and a bit of practicing, Seivarden had added another cocktail to her list of specials, a list that no longer included all the drinks she was able to make.
She wasn't in the best of moods though. The weekend might not have been the worst the island could throw at her, but it was still so very unnecessary, and she had been tempted to order a portal home on some made up excuse. Breq would have seen right through her though, and while Seivarden didn't generally mind her ability to do that, in this case she knew it wouldn't work to her favour.
So, not in the best of moods. Actually, she was in a terrible mood, even after spending the whole morning at the gym. And even after texting Summer.
Today's Specials:
Cosmopolitan
Dry Martini

The Stage
Re: The Bar
Re: The Bar
She was, at times, a very simple woman, yes.
Re: The Bar
"Are you ready to try the first one I've ever served anyone?"
Re: The Bar
"Depends," she said. "Are you willing to try again if it's not up to snuff?"
Nor was she above turning said bribe into an attempt to get more drinks, all under the guise of clearly just helping a coworker perfect her craft.
Re: The Bar
She had nothing better to do, and it meant Summer would stay and chat with her. Mixing the drink, she continued:
"Did you have a fun weekend?"
Re: The Bar
Re: The Bar
"Family councelling?"
Re: The Bar
It was, like, a really super important distinction.
Re: The Bar
"Why did you see a doctor... Oh, is it like therapy?"
Re: The Bar
Re: The Bar
She had made a good impression, or Seivarden would hardly have remembered her.
Re: The Bar
Re: The Bar
Re: The Bar
Of course she did. It was, like, personalized gossip, fueled by booze. It was fantastic.
Re: The Bar
She sighed. "I really need to hear something interesting. I almost, almost booked a portal home today. And the weekend wasn't even that terrible."
Re: The Bar
She did, however, briefly seem to consider Seivarden for a moment as if deciding that maybe there was something she could talk about, but, well, there were other benefits to having a therapist in a completely different dimension, and that was because that therapist did not live on the same small island with you, covered in nosy squirrels, that knew some of the people you may have been talking about.
"That sounds pretty bad, though," Summer had to admit. "And, I mean, you and I do have pretty different ideas of what's interesting, too. And I was home all weekend, that's pretty much boring central," which was actually categorically false, but this weekend actually had been boring!, "unless you want to hear about my dad's beekeeping enterprise. I mean, you probably have more interesting stuff to talk about right now, anyway! New roommate situation, for example! You guys are totally getting along and stuff, right? Maybe you should drag him to the bar one of these nights, too!"
Re: The Bar
She grinned.
"Although you should see the coffee machine. I wasn't sure what it was when I first saw it."
She pulled out her phone to show a picture.
Summer, you know you are the closest thing Seivarden has to a therapist, right?
