Devil's Nest | Monday Night
Another weekend, another subsequent Monday where Annie was at work with her hood up.
She was keeping her head down, practicing making martinis (with the added benefit of being able to drink them, duh, she really needed that after this weekend) and avoiding Tiny.
Which worked for awhile until Tiny started whistling. And since he'd never done that before, Annie couldn't help but feel that it was obviously pointed, and that he had somehow heard about the weekend.
So, she'd be over here, hiding on a barstool, nursing a not-half-bad martini and avoiding her fellow bartender, who was just being mean.

Bar | 1/25
Re: Bar | 1/25
The choice of bar for the evening was entirely based on the company, because, for these sorts of things, she knew she'd be able to get much better stories out of Annie and, depending on how she felt, she might poke around a little (maybe!) for some opinions on some of the things she'd been thinking about at the store that day, things that she knew poking at Seivarden about would be absolutely useless.
So she asked Tin
oy to get her something withturquoisestrawberry before popping down next to Annie."Sooooooo," she started, not leadingly at all, no, why would you think that? "Sounds like I missed another weekend..."
Re: Bar | 1/25
Summer, there had been so much tulle. So much.
Re: Bar | 1/25
"Apparently, the trick is to start going to family counselling every other weekend," she offered, not at all very helpfully, but that had been, ironically, getting her out of a lot of stuff lately.
"It wasn't that bad," she then ventured, with maybe less snark and more concern, wondering if her impression had been wrong, "was it?"
Re: Bar | 1/25
Not as bad as some. But pretty bad.

So needless to say: Jessica was in a mood.
She slumped down next to the hooded figure by the bar and glared at Tiny until cheap bourbon appeared. And then said something.
"I have no basis for this. But I'm blaming you for this weekend."
She really wasn't. She just didn't feel like saying hello.
Re: Bar | 1/25
Like, that was beyond the pale even for her, Jessica. "I didn't do it, I promise."
Re: Bar | 1/25
"That's right, motherfucker. I'm blaming you."
Suck it, Tiny.

Which was why he'd decided that obviously, he had to come visit Annie at work today. With one of the mice accompanying him, perched on his shoulder, much like he'd been all the previous weekend.
"You look like you're having a great evening," he commented, sliding on to a bar stool in front of her.
Re: Bar | 1/25
It was only after a second that she noticed the mouse. "Oh, God, I think there's still a mouse on you, Liam." Because obviously this was a holdover vermin situation. She counted herself lucky that she hadn't had Pierre the Chipmunk cuddled up in bed with her this morning or something.
Re: Bar | 1/25
"HAIL!" cried the mouse in question.
"Huh. You're right. So there is."
Re: Bar | 1/25
Look, she had learned - even before this weekend - that if something weird in Fandom said hi, you said hi back. Or 'hail,' as the case may be.

...that was totally not his thing but whatever.
"Can I get a beer?"
Re: Bar | 1/25
Either one seemed likely, and now Annie really appreciated how confusing it must have been for everyone when she'd arrived the Monday after Parents' Weekend.
Re: Bar | 1/25
This was his fantasy right now. To have a time machine and to do that.
"I'm one of the new teachers? I guess?"
Re: Bar | 1/25
She stuck a hand out over the bar to shake as she set his beer down. "Annie. I do performing arts on Fridays."

"No you need to do better than that," she declared and waved down Tino. "Bourbon. Give him a double."

Re: Bar | 1/25
She pushed a bottom shelf glass of bourbon in front of him.
"Drink up," she said downing her drink. "I'm Jessica."
