Caritas- Tuesday

Kitty was so relieved to be in a decent mood today, one that wasn't the same all day no matter what, and which felt rational.

Of course Tino was in a bitchy mood and kept slamming things around a little harder than necessary but he just seemed to be having a bad day.

Considering how she'd been on the day she'd run into Kitty last weekend, Rosa had considered just pretending nothing happened at all. For however long Kitty would let her get away with it, anyway, which she didn't suspect would be very long, so she decided to just come right in with it and get it out of the way.

"So," she said, taking her usual seat at the bar, "how's your house?"

"Polar bears?" asked Rosa, brows lifting. "I don't think we even got into that threat. But, yeah. Definitely back to the normal range," or lack thereof, "of surface emotions, and I think my face has finally recovered from all that smiling I did on Saturday. That whole thing was terrible; I say we never do it again."

Well, she actually didn't mind yesterday. She'd been wanting to get a new computer for a while now, anyway.

"Ugh," said Rosa, succinctly. "That Faye person probably now thinks I'm a person who actually enjoys and likes things. Which might bother me if I actually cared."

Mmmm, simple surface-level cynicism. Rosa had missed you so.

"And I would say kill me before it gets to a point where I can't even really remember what has or has not happened to me here before, but I think I might actually be at that point with some things."

The look on Rosa's face should make it plenty clear that, no, Kitty. That was not helpful, and may actually, in fact, be the opposite of helpful.

One of these days, maybe Rosa would be willing to embrace that she was likely following in Kitty's footsteps as a long timer, but that day might have to wait until the next time she was forced into being cheerful about everything thanks to a small gem in her stomach.

"Just a beer," Rosa decided, letting that look linger just a moment longer, "...for now. We'll see if I need to switch to something stronger as this conversation continues."

"I'm not going to tell you," said Rosa, "because even mentioning them means touching on them. Let's just leave it that you and I are on opposite sides of finding the word 'yearly' comforting."
died8yearsago: (ya think?)

"...like what?" asked Rosa, who was pretty sure she and Kitty would remain on opposite sides on what was considered good, but if, in her cynicism, she was forgetting about something legitimately good at that moment, Kitty would probably be the one to be able to pick it out.
died8yearsago: (yup that sounds about right)

Thank you for proving Rosa's point so succinctly, Kitty.

She immediately made a face.

"I knew you were going to bring up the kids," she groused. "And now I'll remind you of how I always leave on that weekend."

Which wasn't necessarily true. The first time, she showed up on the last night of it and didn't even know it was happening until she come home to two kids in her apartment.

But then she sighed, a conciliatory sort of sigh, with the hint of a smirk in the corner of her mouth.

"It was kind of cool being a dude, though, and I definitely appreciated the flip side of that, too. So that's one."
