Summer really couldn't help being super stoked whenever a major drinking holiday fell on one of her Wednesdays, and even though her usual day in the kitchen had been made a little more difficult thanks to a good number of her measuring cups and spoon having mysteriously disappeared (and a particularly daunting side quest because apparently the one toy that Pancakes wanted to play with that day was the one toy they couldn't find, and, of course, the fifty million other toys she had were clearly all just trash now, but okay, Pancakes), there were shots, she got in early to help Tino make it look like a ton of leprechauns just threw up the whole St. Patrick's Day section of a Party City all over the bar (have fun finding green glitter over all your crap all the way until May, everyone!), and it was time for the green beer to flow like someone just accidentally broke the main water pipe!

And, duh, yeah, of course Summer had dressed for the occasion. She knew who she worked with. She wasn't about to find out first hand whether or not the protection spell on the bar extended to people pinching.

Of course Annie was the kind of festivity-loving person to wear green on St. Patrick's Day. She was even the kind of dork to go the extra mile with a headband.

"All your shots actually sound good," she told Summer in greeting, sounding a touch suspicious about that. Where was the corned beef? The cabbage? Surely there was some sort of vile St. Patrick's Day aspic concoction in the works?

Annie. Annie. It was St. Patrick's Day. It was a Major Excuse to Get Your Drink On. And Summer was establishing herself as a premiere provider of excellent jello shots for any occasion. Moments like this called for only the best.

Plus a lot of the shock of those kinds of jello shots had tampered a bit, and so now she maybe was enjoying the surprise and suspicion on people's faces when there wasn't a clear and obvious weird one.

Shhhh.

Sometimes, you made your own fun.

"'Actually,'" Summer repeated, rolling her eyes and throwing up a few finger quotes before grinning at Annie. "It's a special occasion! That calls for some primo shots, you know? Soooooo? Full set tonight?"

Also, that was a thing. When they were all good, she'd noticed people were more likely to have more of them. Or at least it was easier to sell them on a full flight.

"Full set," Annie agreed with a bright smile. "In celebration of how I think I'm kind of Irish on my mom's side?" Maybe? It didn't really matter; everyone was Irish on St. Patrick's Day. And if she got accidentally drunk, it was a short walk. "This must be, like, the most fun night of the year to bartend."

Clearly it was time to change that so he waved and offered s "hello!" before he made his way over to her spot at the bar.

"Happy St. Patrick's Day, Stark!" Annie greeted him with a bright smile, raising her last shot in a vaguely-tipsy toast. (Four shots was a lot for someone Annie's size, but she was hanging in there.) "Having a festive time?"

Annie was willing to bet pretty much everything she owned that they didn't celebrate St. Paddy's where Stark was from. Just a guess.

"I've got a few extra ribbons and a plastic shamrock necklace if you still want to get all in on this," she offered helpfully, dangling said necklace over the bar oh-so-temptingly.

"Everything okay after the weekend?" Annie asked, wandering over with a green beer once she'd finished her shots, like a person who apparently wanted a St. Patrick's Day hangover. "Radio made it sound like you had kind of a...time."

Annie had broken a desk, so no judgement.

But Summer grinned at the comment, already setting down one of the Pot o' Gold shots in front of him, because she figured that would be the one he'd lean towards.

"It's St. Patrick's Day," she explained. "A holiday that prides itself in drinking, making everything green, and all things Irish. I've got extra ribbons and shamrock necklaces for anyone who missed the memo, if you'd like."

Summer eyed Lucifer for a moment, as of to try th and get a measure of his mood before she responded, and there was a second moment when she tried to remind herself that it didn't matter, but, damn, she'd really been hoping he just wouldn't even fucking bother.

But then she smiled, gave a little casual shrug. "One of the best holidays for drinking falls on one of the best days of the week for it, too?" she asked. "How could I not?

"So." She gestured toward the tray of jello shots. "Are we doing the full set tonight, Mr. Morningstar?"

Bucky wasn't wearing any green, either. Just his usual armor of 'I'm unremarkable, honest' clothing.

(Including the honestly remarkable wearing gloves indoors, yeah.)

He lifted his beer when he realized she was there. Or when he thought it made sense to seem like he'd just realized she was there. "Jesse."

Bucky had once more been gone for a couple of weeks. In fact, he'd only just come back to the island tonight. And then he'd found the card waiting for him, and he'd -- he'd pretty much walked straight back out again.

Almost did it again when he entered the bar, a good while later.

(There were people here.

Always a risk.)

But no. Somehow he made it all the way to the counter. Didn't even look at the specials board, just said his mild and unobtrusive, "Beer, please."

"You okay if it's green?" asked Summer, who was very likely to give him a green one anyway, but since she only barely recognized him as Jesse's Jaaaames, and a new face at the bar was an opportunity to turn it into a regular face at the bar, she was going to go ahead and ask.

Hannibal was wearing mahogany with a faint yellow plaid, but his pocket square was green in acknowledgement of the day, and because he didn't want to have to kill too many people for pinching him.

He smiled and greeted Summer as he came in. "You look quite festive. How is your evening going?"

Yeah, that pocket square not only saved you from pinching and potential pinch-related murders, Hannibal, but also from getting an epic pouty face of disappointment from a somewhat-protégé, so good call on that.

"St. Patrick's Day is one of my favorites," Summer explained eagerly; it was a pretty great day to be a redhead, really. "I couldn't not. And it's going pretty well, so far. Everyone at least seems tolerable to the spirit of the holiday, if they're not fully embracing it. How about you, Dr. Lecter? Can I get you a drink, or maybe some lovely thematic jello shots that I promise will not disappoint?"
