Groovy Tunes; Tuesday [03/30].
It was a good thing that this job didn't demand a whole lot out of Tisarwat, because she was too distracted with far more important things than CD sales, instrument maintenence, stereo equipment, and potentially sentient headphone wire monsters in the basement to get much work done today at all. Because the news from Seivarden last night had been huge and, while she was a little irritated that it had come to her through Seivarden instead of directly, it had been almost two years for her (here, anyway) since she'd left the Radch and now she could (allegedly) finally go back.
The urge to just go careening back into her galaxy was strong, but she knew better than to do that. She needed to understand that it was a privledge that could be taken away just as easily as it was given. She didn't want to seem too eager, either, and have Breq regret this allowance as soon as it was given. And she wanted to be smart about it. If they were afforded small, brief visits, she'd have to make the most out of them.
But Lucille had expressed wanting to see more of her world...
...and there was no doubt her old friends on Athoek would be glad to see her and show her and her friend around the station. Where surely there would be clue, hints, suggestions of how things were going.
She could show Lucille the gardens. She could see Basnaaid again.
And Summer had fielded the idea of her class maybe visiting the Radch one of these days, too.
It could definitely work. After all, Tisarwat back at Athoek was a social creature, out almost every night, seeing Medic on the regular for her hangovers, it would make sense that she would want to slip back into it on occasion, and very few people would suspect her of any ulterior motives...
...Breq might. That was the whole reason she was sent here, wasn't it? Ulterior motives? But it would be a shame to at least not try...
Tisarwat was so deep into her own head with plotting and planning that she hadn't even noticed her tea had gone cold several times, but she always, dutifully, just made herself another pot, to the same results.
Which was fine. Because now she could add 'ran out of tea' to her list of 'legitimate reasons to go home'.
