Spring break was still happening.

As she'd told Faye, Kitty actually had to keep cleaning up because the place was getting disgusting. Today's adventures in Cleaning Up After Jello Wrestling proved that, but luckily she'd at least been able to text who she thought was her husband through the whole process.

And tonight, well, Kitty was exhausted by it all but the partners weren't. In fact they'd gotten more obnoxious. At one point she had to kick someone out from trying to do body shots on the bartop, and today was an experiment in how fast she could mix whatever entertainment they tried to bring to the stage.

Spring breeeeeak.

At different points during the night Kitty put a stop to both an attempted wet t-shirt contest and an auction of the guy's thong she'd found earlier.

Was Summer (completely and totally unaware of a very important phone call that had entirely gone to someone else?) back for more spring break? Oh, you know Summer was (completely and totally unaware of a very important phone call that had entirely gone to someone else) back for more spring break! Especially since her voice had somehow magically recovered somewhat (at least enough so to make a phone call or two, and there was probably going to be a drunk text about that second one going out eventually), and she was definitely hitting the stage for some Dua Lipa karaoke with two other girls who were her new best friends today even though she wasn't sure which was Mallorie and which was Alix (with an I).

So, in other words, it was kind of nice having a voice again while it lasted!

Where Kitty stopped Tino from just lining the bar with shots, because these people were all paying for their booze, dammit.

Someone was absolutely sleeping it off under one of the tables.

Clint definitely wasn't the person she'd been texting, but his radio notes had made it clear today was a Get a Babysitter and Help Your Wife situation nonetheless.

When he didn't see Kitty in the bar, he peeked into the lounge until he spotted her. "Heeey. The place doesn't look as bad as I expected. How are you doing?"

"Spring breeeeeeak," Kitty replied/sighed.

That noise definitely wasn't Clint laughing, he just... slipped on something, sure.

"I thought spring break already happened. Did we time travel and I missed it? I feel like I would have noticed."

"Spring break happened in our wonky schedule," she said. "Other places are having it about now. And Tino invited them all here."

"Sounds like Tino should have eternal cleanup duty," Clint said with a snicker. "Being the responsible adult boss is so unpleasant."

"There was Jello behind the dartboard, Clint. Behind the dartboard," Kitty said. "Some guy left here without his thong."

Clint winced a little at that. "Please tell me you just threw it out? The thong, not the dartboard. I can help clean some things if you want."

"I went to get gloves before touching it and when I came back it was gone. It might have walked away," she said.

"Yep, that's officially terrible. It's one thing when the gym is gross, but it feels worse here. Are you sure they're going to be here all week?" He could be hopeful for her sake, right?

"I'm hoping they'll get bored," Kitty said immediately.

"Oh, sure, we just need the island to be super boring for a few days. I'm sure that can happen."

Yes, be sassy to your wife, that was always a good idea.

"Honey, I love you, but I'm gonna need you not to jinx me if you want me to keep some sanity," Kitty said sweetly.

There were so many comments Clint could have made, but he was smart and kept them all in his head. Instead, he said, "Why don't I make you a drink and check for any wayward jello spots?"

"I love you more now," Kitty said, clearly relieved.

NO MORE JELLO WRESTLING.

I'm having way too much fun with this.
