Allie and Tiny were behind the bar watching the latest monster movie on Tiny's tablet. If they both kept snickering because one of the actors looked a lot like Eric, they'd never tell.

You know where Kitty wasn't gonna be tonight? Her own damn bar.

"Oh it's nice in here today," she decided.

"This plot makes no sense," Allie was muttering as Kitty walked. "Pause that."

"Hey! How are you?"

"If I ever hear the words 'spring break' again I'm just running away." She would not. She was totally going on the school trip. "How are you?"

[allie_vamp]

"I'll remind you of that next March," Allie laughed. "When you're looking forward to another exotic trip."

"I'm good. Tiny's had me watching this ridiculous monster movie. There's an Eric clone in it."

[throughaphase]

"Okay that might mean I have to watch it," Kitty decided.

[allie_vamp]

"I think we need a showing with Eric just to watch his reaction. The guy is kind of nerdy and wimpy." At least in the part of the movie she'd seen so far.

"...now I definitely need to see this," Kitty said. "There's not a word less descriptive of him than 'nerd.'"

[allie_vamp]

"The term coward was also used once or twice." Allie snickered at the thought of Eric's reaction.

"You know what, this is going to be my relation activity after this week," Kitty decided.

...because Kitty wouldn't know till tomorrow what next week was, oops.

"I need simple things that enable me to mock my friends."

[allie_vamp]

"Simple is best, definitely."

Allie felt a momentary surge of relief for some unknown reason. She'd know why later in the week when no one knocked on her door.

"Especially when it's someone else being mocked."

[throughaphase]

"I don't see you getting mocked a lot," Kitty smiled.

[allie_vamp]

"That's because when it comes down to it, I'm boring," she grinned. "I'm an embarrassment to vampire kind."

[throughaphase]

"But you're an awesome embarrassment to vampirekind," Kitty teased. "Is that helpful?"

[allie_vamp]

Allie smiled. "From people that matter, yes."

"So what's been going on besides break? I've been spending most of the week back home and coming in here for Saturday nights, I feel like I've missed a lot."

[throughaphase]

"Hmm. Phones went crazy again. Got a new guy who brought his kid to the bar. I can't judge." Lexi was pretty used to it here. "Nothing too big, so we're probably due."

Boy howdy were they.

[allie_vamp]

"Oh? So that explains that weird text from Eric that was waiting for me when I got back on the island." Pulling out her phone, Allie brought up the text and handed it over.

You should miss my face. It's extremely attractive face. I thought you had a boyfriend, though? Is that negotiable?

Kitty read it, saying, "it was probably not intended for you but if you took him up on it he'd probably be down."

[allie_vamp]

"I didn't think it was, but with Eric?" A shrug of who knows what thousand-year-old vampires think

"What's scary is the dry spell has gone on long enough I'd almost consider it. I doubt he'd stake me while I slept."

[throughaphase]

"I seriously doubt he would," Kitty told her. "Good bartenders are hard to find, after all."

[allie_vamp]

"And you would know, being boss of a few yourself."

"Can I get you anything to drink by the way?" she asked. "I'm not such a great bartender if I'm forgetting to ask."

"Just a beer. Keeping it nice and easy."

Honestly anything that wasn't shots was good.

Nice and easy meant pouring one of the better drafts for Kitty and pulling out a bottle of True Blood for herself.

"So we've covered the island, what about you? How are Clint and Lexi?"

[throughaphase]

"Clint got a babysitter the other night to help me out, so he's supportive and amazing. Lexi is into everything, especially doing the exact opposite of what I say," she reported.
