Diego was in a much better mood this week, between spending time with Annie and getting avoid the mess that had happened here. He had one earbud in, listening to past radio broadcasts to hear about what he missed while he pretended to do paperwork.

The one benefit about being home was that he was back in his own clothes and didn't look like some Seven-loving douche.

I promise I will pretend to hate it. He would hate it, to be fair, just because it made Annie uncomfortable. But on the other hand if they were alone he would absolutely be staring at her.

If they were alone, he'd probably be able to convince Annie to like a few things about it. (That zipper, for one.)

Seriously, she would be kicking herself (figuratively -- it would really hurt to get kicked by these new boots, which she supposed was a benefit of them) for how long it had taken her to just talk to him last week. They'd lost a lot of time to awkwardness.

And hey, at least the uniform gave her something to focus on besides that thing that had happened, though it was a whole new indignity to have to suffer, and she was starting to feel so self-conscious with how people looked at her in this thing.

what if I came to you sometime next week and we had a little date night? Because having something like that to look forward to would help a whole lot, right now.

I'd really like that. It was something normal, something they used to do before this whole mess, and if it was on the island they'd be in their comfort zone.

Somehow. Maybe they could take a little excursion to Baltimore sometime soon, since...it seemed like she was still going to have to do the vigilante thing if she wanted to do any real superheroing instead of this...life-size Barbie shit.

Five needs more clothes, we should probably get him one too. He was fairly sure he wouldn't, like, destroy it in front of her. Most likely he'd give her a look and then keep the shirt in secret.

Frosted A-Trains were kind of hard to beat, though.

That's absolutely ridiculous and I love it. Honestly out of all the merchandise one could get, a cereal was up there with the best kind to have.

it's apparently going to have little yellow marshmallow stars.

So far, the cereal and the toys were her favorite pieces of merchandise, since they were kind of meant for kids. She could take or leave the ridiculous amount of beauty products they were rolling out under her brand.

I mean, you're gonna end up with like every piece of Starlight merch I can shove at you unless you stop me, so consider it done.

Hope he was also pumped to get a plush Starlight doll, since Annie had one of those for him, too. (And she had the old uniform, so she was probably a collectible by now.)
