Caritas; Wednesday [06/09].
Summer was honestly kind of hoping for a nice, normal night at the bar that Wednesday, especially following the events of last Wednesday, where the island was doing that thing, but she knew that was not going to happen very quickly into her shift, and that was all because of Tino's face.
"Seriously, though, why is your face like that? Is that supposed to be a smile? Why do you look like you totally just got--
"OhmyGOD.
"No, I don't want to hear the details! GOD."
Summer was going to try and work on the far side of the bar as much as possible tonight and was considering arming herself with a water bottle to spritz him with every time he passed by and tried to drop specifics in passing.
"You know what, Tino? On second though, I would at least like this lady's phone number so I can send her my condolances and recommend a good therapist."

Re: The Bar - 06/09.
Seivarden would think that she deserved the water spritzing for kissing attempts, nothing else.
Re: The Bar - 06/09.
Which, yeah, was definitely her saying it wasn't exactly the best special in the multiverse without actually saying it wasn't exactly the best special in the multiverse. Then again, driving sales and traffic into the bar didn't seem a high priority for Seivarden, either.
(Then she might actually have to...gasp!>...do her job or something!)
Re: The Bar - 06/09.
"Anyway, what's on the menu tonight?"
Seivarden looked at the board.
Re: The Bar - 06/09.
"Two sweet and a," terrible, "savory one. I recommend the Fruit Loops one for its uniqueness, but the butterscotch one will pair nicely with a whiskey. I also have a nice ketchup shooter to compliment the meatloaf."
And wow. Those were actual words that just came out of her mouth.
Re: The Bar - 06/09.
There was a pause.
"Ketchup shooter?"
Re: The Bar - 06/09.
Re: The Bar - 06/09.
"How should I market the arrack?"
Re: The Bar - 06/09.
"That said," she added, going ahead and making an executive decision by setting down a butterscotch shot for Seivarden and pouring some whiskey to go along with it, "the best way to market, especially around here, is word of mouth. Talk it up a little. Maybe invite a few people over for a nice little exclusive event featuring it that might get a few people on board and a little more excited about it. Also, if you're not completely scandalized by the idea, maybe next week I can do a set of shots featuring it to sort do a tie-in and I can talk it up for you. Or I could maybe give it some thought and come up with some ways to work it into cocktails. People get more excited about things when there's a variance, or some interesting twist to look forward to. Why else would I keep doing things like meatloaf jello shots every week or so? Because people actually are interested to see what stupid shit I come up with.
"Also?" she added. "Jello shots are fun and accessible. Radchaai beverage-based exceptionalism? Mmmmm," she made a little bit of a face, "not so much."
WELL. YOU DID ASK. AGAIN.
Re: The Bar - 06/09.
"So, I give you a couple of bottles to make jello shots of," she said. "Who around here should I invite to a special event?"
As for Summer's first question:
"Something Radchaai should be a thing, and it's not likely to be tea."
Re: The Bar - 06/09.
....actually...
Summer's head tilted, eyeing Seivarden speculatively.
"I'll only need one," she said, with the slow tone of someone with a lot of gears turning behind the scenes. "And like I said, literally, two seconds and maybe a text, and I can get it myself. How about this? I'll put something together, a nice little dinner party or some shit, but it'll have to wait a few weeks, I've got my birthday next week so that's taking up all my party-planning points atm. But I need you to go at least a few weeks not serving it at the bar, okay? If anyone asks, tell them your supply ran out for now, and you're not sure when more will come in..."
Re: The Bar - 06/09.
Seivarden grinned. Why had she ended up caring about things like this?
"I really appreciate it. Oh, what sre your birthday plans by the way?"
She expected it would be something impressive.
Re: The Bar - 06/09.
"All I can tell you at this point," said Summer, with her phone out, already laying down some groundwork by tweeting out a sad face gif with the caption mfw there's no more arrack at the bar, "is keep Saturday the nineteenth open and make sure you have a passable legal ID."
She glanced up from her phone to give Seivarden an arch look.
"Actually, I'm sure you'll be fine."
Because you were old, Seivarden, obvs.
Re: The Bar - 06/09.
"So, a surprise. I'll remember the date. And my part of the arrack marketing plan."
Not selling arrack.
Re: The Bar - 06/09.
"Good," Summer said with a pleased, satisfied kind of nod. "Soooo....other than trying to make arrack happen, what've you been up to?"
A pause, and then, because she couldn't help herself:
"Feeling a little less smoochy?"
Seriously, Seivarden, it had been a lot of attempts.
Re: The Bar - 06/09.
She looked a little more awkward than she had hoped for.
"I apologise though."
Re: The Bar - 06/09.
Re: The Bar - 06/09.
"Never really tell what?" Seivarden asked.
Re: The Bar - 06/09.
But that, clearly, was different.
"What was going to happen," Summer clarified. "I mean, I was pulling weapons on people. You kissed my friend who disappeared a minute later I was in a cat-theme mech pilot suit at one point! Definitely one of those rando days where the most wild shit happens so fast you practically feel schizophrenic."
Re: The Bar - 06/09.
"It was really frustrating," Seivarden agreed, frowning a little as she realised she hadn't yet complained to anyone about it yet, beyond saying it was frustrating.
Re: The Bar - 06/09.
Re: The Bar - 06/09.
She raised the butterscotch shot, downed it, and reached for the whiskey.
"So, how have you been since things went back to normal after last Wednesday?"
