Summer was honestly kind of hoping for a nice, normal night at the bar that Wednesday, especially following the events of last Wednesday, where the island was doing that thing, but she knew that was not going to happen very quickly into her shift, and that was all because of Tino's face.

"Seriously, though, why is your face like that? Is that supposed to be a smile? Why do you look like you totally just got--

"OhmyGOD.

"No, I don't want to hear the details! GOD."

Summer was going to try and work on the far side of the bar as much as possible tonight and was considering arming herself with a water bottle to spritz him with every time he passed by and tried to drop specifics in passing.

"You know what, Tino? On second though, I would at least like this lady's phone number so I can send her my condolances and recommend a good therapist."

"Surprisingly good, aside from the whole," she vaguely waved a hand, making a face of distaste, "thing this afternoon."

Summer knew what thing, of course, it being Wednesday and all.

"I don't know why I keep getting chosen for it," she added whinily.

"Luck of the draw, I guess," said Summer, with a blasé little shrug, knowing full well she hadn't been picked and instead got to watch it all from the safety of the stands while being cute with her boyfriend. "You could just not show up. But then what would you do without all those cool shirts?"

"Or," Faye pointed out, crooking a finger at her, "the pleasure of being a spectator occasionally. One of these days I'll get to just watch it all again. It was better than it was last week, at least."

Hard to beat last week.

Summer took a moment to have to even remember what last week's activity even was because last week had been a loooooot.

Then she facepalmed.

"Oh, you mean last week, as in I just randomly decided to go to sleep in a whole ass bed in the middle of things before a snake attacked me? That last week?"

"See, that's worse than what happened to me," Faye observed lightly, looking curious. "I just kept shooting everyone and got to see Helmet's face."

He did not have a weird birth mark, it turned out!

"You got attacked by a snake?" See, that sounded truly awful, and as always with a story where something bad had happened to someone else, Faye was very interested.

"I mean," Summer shrugged, "it disappeared, like, two seconds later, so no big deal or whatever, but you have to tell me about Helmet's face!"

You drop that, Faye, and expect Summer to want to talk about snakes??

"Ohmygod, please don't tell me he's absolutely hideous under there. Or, worse, he has, like, a moustache or something."

Faye considered her reply as she took her time with her shot.

On one hand, there was the truth, which was that he was actually kind of cute, and he had a mustache.

On the other, this was an opportunity. Also, Din was super weird about the face thing, and she vaguely didn't want to violate that. But also it was hilarious.

"He looks like his kid," she replied. "Just tall. But like the ears?" She gestured to either side of her head. "Enormous."

What was it with bucketheads Nd moustaches?

"....seriously?" asked Summer, after wrestling a little bit with her utter disappointment but also only sparking her curiosity even more because the image in her head now was goofy as shit and needed to be conformed. "Doesn't that hurt, though? Stuffing those ears into that helmet? That's drive me nuts."

"He like, pins them back," Faye lied smoothly, sort of sweeping her hands back along either side of her head. "But he's all green under there. Way less cute than the baby."

Well, that part was true, anyway. Most things weren't as cute as Grogu.

Forgive the skeptical look on Summer's face at that description of the baby, Faye. Summer had just had way too many alien things appear super cute and adorable until they very, very much were not.

Even if, yeah, okay, that kid was pretty stinkin' cute.

"I guess it works for him, then," she allowed. "Some places, a big old suit of space armor actually might be a little less conspicuous than the whole green skin thing."
