The Devil's Nest, Tuesday Night

One of these days, Amenadiel would grasp that Lucifer preferred to stay a hands-off uncle until Charlie was eighteen years old, but today was not that day, and so Lucifer's long-term plans to avenge the broken water feature had to be put off in favor of yet another phone conversation on the matter.

"Oh, fine," he finally said, exasperated. "I'll come over and wave at your offspring from afar, shall I? Is Doctor Linda's liquor cabinet still as well-stocked as it usually is? Fine. Good. Okay. Yes, I will bring them. For the love of-- Yes."

Apparently seeing him at Lux had made Amenadiel more determined than ever to get this done. And Lucifer, pacing up and down the club, was suffering for it.

Beethoven it was for the rest of the night.

Octavia definitely bothered Tiny.

... For exactly nothing but a big glass of water with ice in it, but still. That was what she got, before she settled down at the bar for a while to just listen to the music.

Oh, look who was here at the Devil's Nest with a drink like it was no big thang and was even waaaay more likely to remember it the next day this time, too!

"Mr. Morningstar," Summer greeted, smug as one could be when also taking sips of a violently pink cocktail through a straw.

"Miss Smith," Lucifer said, looking up with a bright grin. "How are you enjoying your legally obtained alcohol?"

"Eh." Summer shrugged a shoulder, which worked in contrast to her own grin. "It's okay, I guess. How are you doing on this Tuesday evening in a bar?"

Said the Wednesday night bartender.

And it was a very busy Wednesday, usually, too!

"I just caved to my brother about coming by to see my squealing nephew tomorrow," Lucifer sighed, "So I'm soaking up the bar ambiance while I can."

"Squealing?" asked Summer with a quirk of an eyebrow. And a sip of her drink. "How old is this nephew?"

And how glad was she going to feel in a second that not only had her nephew grown up extraordinarily fast, but also that she wasn't even around for any of that growing up process.

She was too busy saving her grandfather from being executed by falling rocks thanks to her impeccible fashion.

Of course, as soon as she thought this, it could be squealing not just because of age but also because, you know, no limit to what kind of form celestial sproglings could take, especially if you went by the book...

"A few months? He's a baby," Lucifer said, taking a sip from his drink and pulling a face. "Can you imagine my brother actually tried to ask me to be the child's godfather?"

Dwight didnt know why he was at The Devil's Nest that night.... ok that was a lie, a gigantic lie he was telling himself. Deep down he knew EXACTLY why he was there. If there was ever a time to take Lucifer up on that offer for a drink on the house, it was now.

So with a rather large Long Island Ice Tea in his hands he sat down at the bar with a sigh.

"Lucifer" he said with a slight nod and a forced smile.

"Lumberjack," Lucifer greeted, eyeing that drink. "You know you're a few days late for the pub crawl."

A drink to numb the mind and forget, but still, just a drink right?

"Well, far be it from me to argue with alcohol," Lucifer said. "And I suppose I can even say something pithy and vaguely bartenderish like 'how was your week', even though I barely care."

When Lucifer had last been to the bar, Octavia hadn't been there yet.

But now she was, lifting her glass of... yes, that was just water, in greeting. "Hey."

"Didn't feel fancy." Octavia never felt fancy, which was probably the reason for the deadpan right there. "Thanks, though."

His hand wound up on her arm midway into that brief, light kiss. "So how are you this evening? Besides disappointingly basic."
