Caritas; Wednesday [07/07].
With most of her regulars either not around or sucked down a hole somewhere, Summer was definitely not expecting tonight to be very hopping at Caritas. It definitely felt like one of those things where she was wondering if she should even bother, but also, boozing it up a little to take the edge off of a situation they hadn't quite figured out yet was a time-honored tradition around here. She could honestly use a little bit of a distraction herself by keeping busy, which was evident in the state of her jello shots, which she expected would either be mostly untouched or completely devoured by the people who did come in. If anything, though, they did look great on her Instagram and would probably net her at least a few new catering jobs here and there.
Mostly, she was just kind of bummed that Tino hadn't been sucked down a hole, while, at the same time, figuring that if all these holes were leading ot the same place, that was just a cruel thing to subject the people who had already disappeared to, so she guessed this was better, those people probably had enough to worry about....
Wednesday Jello Shot Specials
First One Free to All Wednesday Activity Participants
And also if someone you know is in a hole
So that pretty much means the first one's free to everyone
Sour Apple
Reese's Cup
Raspberry Cosmopolitan
Caritas is open!
[[ and flying OCD-free today! ]]

"So glad to see you," she said in greeting once she got close enough to the bar, managing a little smile. "And not just for the shots."
Though, like, the shots might actually be sort of welcome, even if Annie wanted to stay vigilant in case of holes.

Like, how long did it take for her to accept that that wasn't the case with Lucifer?
But then her expression shifted back to the more serious, the more concerned, as she tilted her head and asked, "What can I get for you? How you holding up?"

Also good to see Tino was still around. (For a given value of 'good,' anyway.)

"Yeah," Summer agreed, "that sort of thing could change by the hour, really. One minute, fine, next minute? Hole. And no trace of it after that, it seems. I'm glad you haven't been holed yet, either. If this doesn't get figured out soon, there might not be anyone left..."
Not to be, like, morbid about ot or anything, but really...

So, like, maybe Rey went to space or something and had just told Summer? Seemed likely? Right?

Pulled out her phone, just to check.
(Yeah, right, as if she was one to miss a text!)
Quickly sent out a text to Rey herself.
Slipped her phone away again.
"Well," she decided, "on the bright side, hopefully this means she's found John."

And wiusually even with a way lower body count and level of trauma than Summer was used to, at that!

Selfishly, Annie had an apartment in another universe where she could stash a whole bunch of people, but that was sort of...unsuperheroish, for her to dip out.

And if she did? You know she'd land just right in order to break the damn thing with her ass or something....

"Any good word, Missus Mayor?"

She shook her head a little.
"Whatever it is, if it's the island going through something again, I really hope she gets her shit together and figures it out soon. Or that someone does. I don't know."

"Is it bad now that I kind of want to take a closer look at who's disappeared so far to see how well that 'spring cleaning' idea actually applies?" she asked. "Although the plants make me think it's a spring cleaning plus redecorating sort of thing. How old is this place? Maybe it's a midlife crisis."

"You think when we get everyone back, we should let him know that it's clearly his fault, since every newbie needs their first Fandom event sooner or later?"
Summer hadn't even met the guy yet, but, hey, it seemed fair to her.

He started on the sour apple shot. "What, no incredibly weird meat shot this week?"
He liked to live dangerously.

Or replaced by a robot again.
Or by a clone.
Or killed by a decoy of herself.
Or it could be a lot of things with Summer, really.
"I think we've got enough to deal with right now without adding spam pies or headcheese jello to the mix."

He ate the Reese's Cup. "Hey, nice. You could make these a cupcake filling, make one of those boozy cakes to go around it, and cater my birthday."
His present would be watching everybody else get smashed.

But now she was a little worried if maybe the holes did inadvertently have something to do with her, but usually, those sort of ripple effects didn't make it out here to Fandom...
"...I'd be a benevolent ruler, at least," she offered.
Or at least she'd try!
Just...don't ask some of those other societies she'd been god-empress or blood queen of what they thought about the matter...

The wrong SteeeeeeeeeeeeeveSteve shuffled into the bar because it had been a stupid day full of interviewing raccoons, made stupider because no one spoke raccoon and so it had been full of charades and implied bribery.(He was pretty sure no one had cared about those shiny fake police badges for kids, but giving those out might bite him later.)
"Beer," he said, sitting down on a barstool. "Please."

And drinking alone in his apartment seemed like a one-way trip to Bad News.

Which was also a benefit to not drinking alone in his apartment, right?

"Um, I guess the raspberry thing?"
