Groovy Tunes; Thursday [09/16].

Troy was actually pretty excited to get into work that day, because he had something planned that he spent most of his last shift setting up so that today he could finally get to work on doing it. So he came in for his shift, threw his backpack behind the counter, and went straight to the keyboards, bopping his head along to the songs already playing in his head. He grabbed a few of them under his arms and brought them back over to the counter, where he was going to set them all up in an arrangement so that he could do what he was hoping to do, cracked his knuckles, rolled his neck a little, and then got ready for epic brilliance.

He dramatically pressed down the first key, only instead of the fart noise he was expecting, he got...just a regular old keyboard note.

Wait a second.

He pressed another one. No lasers. Just keyboard. Another. So much for shattering glass, it was just more keyboards. Another. Still the same.

"Who changed these all back?" he demanded to the emptiness around him.

He had spent hours perfectly programming these keyboards for sound effects, and now they were all back to normal, and who wanted to just play a normal song when you could attempt to play Tchaikovsky with nothing but splat sounds and farm animals?

He was going to play it for radio tomorrow, too!

But it looks like he was back to square one.

He definitely made sure the first sound he reprogrammed in was a sad trombone, because it just really spoke to his soul right now.

Groovy Tunes is open!

After the conversation the other day with Summer, Dwight had been thinking about the guitars that had been sitting neglected in his apartment since he arrived on the island. It was time to get them out again, even if was just for his own use.

So, there he was, walking in with two guitar cases in tow. A nice Classic Guitar and his prized Electric Guitar.

"Hey, Troy isn't it?" he asked with a friendly smile.

"No, nothing about books" Dwight said with a smirk. "Unless you have any books with sheet music. Was curious what guitar supplies you have here" he added.

He put the cases up on the counter and opened them so Troy could see what they were working with. "They unfortunately have been neglected since I got to the island so I know they need new strings and tuning. I also need to restock on the basics. Left everything but the guitars themselves back home."

Dwight followed Troy through the shop and started looking at everything they had. He had to admit, for a small shop on a small island, they were impressively stocked. Dwight had to stop and fight back a laugh as he hear Troy's question.

"No, not both at once" he said with a grin. "Takes two hands to play one guitar. I have two because one is an regular acoustic guitar and the other is an electric guitar. You generally play them both the same but they sound completely different and have different features that make them sound even more distinct."

Dwight paused for a moment, trying to think of how to best explain it.

"Ok so, in something like Country music, you are most likely going to hear the classic acoustic guitar. That's what most commonly is used. Now for a rock song or the newer hard rock stuff, that will most likely be the electric guitar that is used. I enjoy a wide range of music so I like being able to play both types of guitars."

"I've played around with them a few times. Never owned one before. What about you?" Dwight asked turning and nodding towards Troy as he glanced through the guitar supplies on the racks and shelves. "Sounds like you are quite the pro with the keyboards. You play anything else?"

"Ah the voice is one of the best instruments of all" Dwight nodded in agreement. "And a fellow quarterback too, nice. I played in high school and could have gotten into college with it most likely. But ended up enlisting instead. Might not have been the brightest choice I made, but eh, cant change the past right?"

"Well as long as you make the most of what you got and where you are at... can't really ask a guy to do more than that can you?" Dwight said with a shrug. "I'm pretty sure my back would have given out on me long before I could have gotten to pro anyways" he added with a soft laugh.

There was no lie in that statement... but maybe just a little exaggeration.
