Groovy Tunes; Thursday [09/16].
Troy was actually pretty excited to get into work that day, because he had something planned that he spent most of his last shift setting up so that today he could finally get to work on doing it. So he came in for his shift, threw his backpack behind the counter, and went straight to the keyboards, bopping his head along to the songs already playing in his head. He grabbed a few of them under his arms and brought them back over to the counter, where he was going to set them all up in an arrangement so that he could do what he was hoping to do, cracked his knuckles, rolled his neck a little, and then got ready for epic brilliance.
He dramatically pressed down the first key, only instead of the fart noise he was expecting, he got...just a regular old keyboard note.
Wait a second.
He pressed another one. No lasers. Just keyboard. Another. So much for shattering glass, it was just more keyboards. Another. Still the same.
"Who changed these all back?" he demanded to the emptiness around him.
He had spent hours perfectly programming these keyboards for sound effects, and now they were all back to normal, and who wanted to just play a normal song when you could attempt to play Tchaikovsky with nothing but splat sounds and farm animals?
He was going to play it for radio tomorrow, too!
But it looks like he was back to square one.
He definitely made sure the first sound he reprogrammed in was a sad trombone, because it just really spoke to his soul right now.

So, there he was, walking in with two guitar cases in tow. A nice Classic Guitar and his prized Electric Guitar.
"Hey, Troy isn't it?" he asked with a friendly smile.

Which promptly made the sound of a creaking door.
"Wait, no, hold on," he said, frowning and trying another one.
A dog barked. The frown deepened.
A third one. The keyboard made the ding, ding, ding! of a correct game show question and he beamed. There it was!
"That's me!" he said proudly. "How can I help you?"
And then, after a moment of realization: "Unless this is about whoever it is that keeps yelling 'books' as loud as they can in the library and then running away, because I actually don't know anything about that."

He put the cases up on the counter and opened them so Troy could see what they were working with. "They unfortunately have been neglected since I got to the island so I know they need new strings and tuning. I also need to restock on the basics. Left everything but the guitars themselves back home."

But he might not know guitars much but he did know the store. His brows lifted as he hitched a thumb over his shoulder. "Guitar section's over there," he offered, and then cocked his head in that direction before venturing forward to lead the way. "I definitely know we've got strings, and sheet music, and...probably a few other things you might need...."
And, as he moved and thought about it, he found that he had to ask, "So...if you have two of them, does that mean you play them both at once?"
no subject
"No, not both at once" he said with a grin. "Takes two hands to play one guitar. I have two because one is an regular acoustic guitar and the other is an electric guitar. You generally play them both the same but they sound completely different and have different features that make them sound even more distinct."
Dwight paused for a moment, trying to think of how to best explain it.
"Ok so, in something like Country music, you are most likely going to hear the classic acoustic guitar. That's what most commonly is used. Now for a rock song or the newer hard rock stuff, that will most likely be the electric guitar that is used. I enjoy a wide range of music so I like being able to play both types of guitars."

Not that he was calling Dwight a nerd, because the dude was pretty much huge and also, if you were going to play an instrument, a guitar was pretty much one of the few acceptable ones.

Try as he actually might, he did not sound too terribly heartbroken about the whole thing.

There was no lie in that statement... but maybe just a little exaggeration.
