Around town- Halloween evening

Kitty had thought that this would be over at midnight last night. You know, like last year. Instead she was going to be going trick-or-treating as an adorable blue monster.

Lexi was a dinosaur fairy, which was a dinosaur with wings on her back and a little tiara, and for her first proper time trick or treating she'd have a little adorable space alien friend along.

So as far as Lexi was concerned, this was the best.

"Um." Look, Din had not expected this. Honestly he hadn't been sure what to expect since his Halloween knowledge came from two aliens and one witch.

But maybe not this?

Grogu, on the other hand, all over his costume.

"Which part?" Kitty asked.

Don't think she wouldn't be over here getting pictures of the tiny werewolf.

"You're blue. And fuzzy." Neither thing was too odd for home, but here... "Are you normally blue and fuzzy?"

"Nope. First time I've ever been blue and fuzzy," Kitty said.

"Mommy's a monster!" Lexi said, happily, like a well-adjusted Fandom kid.

"I'm hoping this is over tonight," Kitty added with a sigh.

It was sort of a bittersweet experience seeing kids (and Grogu's) dressed up since it made her think of her own kids, but she was determined to shake that feeling off. She'd just be happy she hadn't had any of the candy yesterday 'cause there'd be a Thanos walking around and no thank you.

"Oh my god everybody looks so cute!"

"Thanks," said Kitty, wryly.

Lexi meanwhile was holding her bag out for candy.

"I mean, sorry, but it's still cute!" What? It was.

Lexi was a pretty lucky kid because Wanda had way too much candy on her hands, so she was getting a bunch. "I'm glad you came to a compromise with the dinosaur and the fairy."

Grogu of course toddled on over to show off his awesome werewolf costume. Because just look at that kid.

Also, give him some kriffing candy.

"Oh my god, you are the cutest!" Ugh, she had done a good job picking out the costume, look at that adorable man-eating werewolf.

You were getting all of the candy, Grogu. All of it.

Was Stark hoping the islands small supply of children stopped by this evening? Of course. Did he have enough candy for a much larger child population? Yes. Would he be giving out excessive amounts of candy to any children who did show up? Definitely. Was any of the candy leftover from last night's dance? Absolutely not.

He was in luck! Because there was a dinosaur fairy yelling, "Trick or treat!" at his closed door.

Just what Stark wanted! That was why he was opening the door with one hand and holding up an excessive amount of candy in the other.

"A dinosaur fairy! And..." whatever Kitty was. Which didn't look all that odd, because someone was from a real weird area of space to begin with.

And a very, very terrifying werewolf who was just looking to Lexi for what he was supposed to do here before silently holding up his bag to Stark.

Oh, so terrifying. Stark was absolutely quaking with fear.

"You're very fuzzy," he said approvingly. Sorry Grogu, it just made you look somehow even more cuddly.

Given that Irene lived above her shop -- and that her shop was not the sort of place Lexis or Grogus or even NPC children probably ought to be wandering into -- she had plunked herself in a chair out front with a big cauldron of candy to hand out.

And given that she had not attended the dance last night, her Vampira costume was, indeed, was just that: a mere costume.

"Oh my goodness, look how darling." Yes, you too, blue monster. She thought you were an exceptionally well-costumed child.

Well, hopefully she felt the same way about a small, green child dressed up as a werewolf too.

Because Grogu also wanted that candy as he toddled up to hold up his sack silently.

"I think you're supposed to say 'trick or treat,'" Irene told him confidentially, dropping a few pieces into his sack. But you know what, he was cute enough she was going to let it go. "What a nice costume! Did you pick it out yourself?"

Alien-turning-into-werewolf? This sort of confusion happened when you met little alien children on Halloween.

"TRICK OR TREAT," Lexi greeted her, by yelling.

"Honey, don't yell, she's right there," Kitty said.

You know what, it sort of made up for Grogu's lack of saying it. That's what Irene was going to think anyway!

And she was all set to comment on Lexi and her costume except she was looking askance at that blue monster over there, oh noooooo. "Beautiful costume, Your Highness," she told Lexi with a deferential little bow of her head as she held out her candy cauldron. She was already rolling with alien-werewolf; the tiara meant she was going to assume some sort of princess thing was going on here. "Kitty, is that you?"

Trick or treating didn't seem like the most annoying thing ever when there were maybe, what, two? Three? Actual Children on the island? And since one of those Actual Children belonged to one of Rosa's best friends, she wasn't surprised when she heard a knock at the door.

A knock that Anna Pavlova, back from her week hanging out in Rosa's office for the heist, happily answered as Rosa went to open the door.

So help her, though, if it was just squirrels or gremlins....

"PUPPY!!!"

Well Lexi was focused on something other than candy, at least.

"Try again," said her mom, the monster.

Nope. Kid was ruined.

The dog wasn't going to be much good, either, slipping past Rosa in the doorway to meet this obvious new friend, tail wagging and particularly interested in this dinosaur fairy's shoes.

"Uhhh," said Rosa, recognizing the kid but not the...blue...thing...quite yet. "Hi, Lexi?"

Well, this made sense. Lexi was, like, what, five now? That was definitely old enough to go trick or treating by yourself, right?

Also, was it her, or did the blue thing kind of sound like Kitty?

Liz had kept the Photo Hut opened since she lived upstairs and she hoped no one minded she was currently a zombie.

She did have a supply of candy ready and she even had Rain dressed up in a top hat and bow tie for the evening and yes there were heaps of photos already.

And of course, there was Lexi not quite getting how this worker yet, and yelling "TRICK OR TREAT!" at the door.

“Hi,” Liz opened the door with the bowl of candy ready to go. “I love your costume,” she said with a smile. Rain had also appeared at the door to see what was going on.

She also had her Polaroid on hand to ask if she could take a photo after the candy had been handed out.
