Dite's Decadent Delights | Wednesday

Irene prided herself on being non-judgmental, particularly when it came to what tickled others' fancies. Humans were complicated, interesting creatures, and attraction was dynamic.

But that being said. "There really is something for everyone," Irene mused aloud as she put the finishing touches on her Thanksgiving display. Carrot and corn-shaped dildoes. Cranberry sauce massage oil. Buttery lube.

Maybe it was just that she wasn't American. This wasn't her holiday. (As though there wasn't bizarre British food-themed merchandise out there, please.)

Who can point you to the less, uh...holiday-themed sections of the shop.

"So.... that is evidently a thing..." Dwight muttered as he paused for the briefest of moments as he entered the shop.

"Hey Irene" he called out. "How's it going?"

"Mystifyingly American," Irene answered with a smile, gesturing towards the table in the front from where she was working on the books at the counter. "But I suppose I can appreciate a holiday as much as the next imported girl. How are you, Dwight?"

"Hey, even some of us natives don't quite get it all either," he said with a shake of his head. "Doing pretty good. Came by to see how things were going. And to let you know I've started a working on a couple new projects that might lend themselves to your set up here possibly if you ever need new display cases or want some nice yet discrete storage and display options for a few of these *ahem* more interesting pieces."

"I may yet take you up on that," Irene said thoughtfully. "A lot of things come with their own display or travel cases, depending on the item, but I am always finding myself wishing I had a better way to showcase threadier, thinner things."

Whips. Crops. Cats'o Nine Tails. Et cetera.

"Just let me know, no rush. Working on some things with Amaya for her shop. Figured I might come up with something in the process that might work for you here. With some tweaks and a little flare of course" he added.

"There is just so much crossover with blacksmithing and sex boutiques," Irene commented dryly, clearly amused. "But I appreciate the thought. How are your projects with Amaya coming, then?"

Amaya, whom he'd roomed with on the trip, so Irene was already curious about all of that. (And not just because she, personally, was enjoying her new ongoing game of How Often Can I Make Blackstone Blush.) But then again, Irene had roomed with a man who slept with his eyes open so that hardly meant anything. (Even if she was now a bit more sympathetic to Jon's...well. Creepiness.)

"They are going well. Just finished a collaboration on something she was working on for Dr. Lecter. Amaya made the silverware set and I made the display box for the set. Think it turned out pretty good..."

Dwight pulled out his phone and with faster, but still fumbling thumbs, pulled up a picture of the finished piece to show Irene the finished box.

"They both seemed to like it. So might be adding a few more to my to-do list here. Amaya said she might even put some up on that Etsy shop of hers now, so good job with that one, Irene," he said with a slight wink.

And what? It was all just a purely business-partnership-relationship-thing. Perfectly normal for business collaborations and what not right?

"I'm so pleased she took my suggestion," Irene said with an admiring look at the photo. "You ought to consider it, too."

E-commerce for all!

"We'll see" Dwight mused. "I've always mostly done larger pieces like furniture and stuff. This project is by far the most intricate piece I've done. But, if they end up being popular... might be worth considering."

Kitty had actually gotten out of the habit of frequenting this place after Irene left, but you know what was enough to get her to come in?

Maybe it was obvious by how she walked in and gestured at the display with a confused expression?

"Is this not how Thanksgiving is traditionally celebrated?" Irene asked, carefully innocent.

She was a foreigner in this land, Kitty. She clearly was just trying her best.

"Not traditionally, and now I'm stuck wondering who buys these for repeated use."

Not that she wanted to vegetable kink shame, but like...

"I think the cranberry sauce at least is sort of a one-and-done," Irene offered dryly. "The corn at least seems...."

Searching for a word, searching for a word....

"Textured?"

"Yeah, all the texture in the world doesn't make up for the thoughts that it's supposed to be corn," Kitty said.

"Probably better than using the real thing," Irene pointed out, wincing.

That seemed like cruising for some kind of infection. Or, like, corn silks in weird places.

"Think I can sue whoever came up with these for emotional distress?" she asked.

Irene considered it thoughtfully for a moment. "This is America. You can sue for anything here, can't you?"

A pause, and she added, consolingly, "The carrot one actually opens up. You don't use it in that shape."

Helpful.

"God, I hate that I'm going to ask this. Opens up... how?"

Was this why she stopped coming in except to say hi?

But it was so educational!

Irene crossed over to pick up a carrot-shaped dildo -- you know, as one did -- and gave it a twist so the pointy end came off and revealed something much more rounded and expected as far as dildo shapes go.

"I mean, you still have these ridges," she pointed out, frowning at it. "Honestly this might be weirder."

"Maybe it's the same weird in a different way?" Kitty said. "I'm not sure which is worse and I know I'm going to be thinking about it later."

"Better or worse than the corn, though?" Irene was sort of on Team Corn here, at least in theory.

"Better," Kitty said after a moment. "I'm sorry, if anyone came at me with anything that reminded me of corn I'd ask them to see a doctor."

Jon had just come out here for T&C, but the display caught his eye, and he couldn't help but stop and squint at it in utter appalled confusion.

"Going to survive, Jon?" Honestly reactions like that were just going to ensure that future displays were worse.

Jon came in, still eyeing the display. "That is...bizarre. Not to mention, it begs the question if there are things like that for...I don't know, Christmas pudding, or if this uniquely American."

Lol you guys I didn't label the OOC thread until like four hours later what is my brain today.
