Everything was under way and getting set up at the animal shelter for the new tanks Sidon was bringing in, buy the weather today was almost nice enough to make him wonder if they should be needed at all!

Of course, he knew that was merely wishful thinking and it could turn toward those dreadfully difficult climates for one such as him to handle well in a moment's notice. It could even be snowing by the end of the day! Which was all the more reason why Sidon felt he'd best make the most of it and squeeze in a few more good swims around the island before such a thing would truly be unthinkable, unless the Zora should find themselves with a prince popsicle!

And, of course, there was the opportunity to sit on the beach afterwards and enjoy a mighty catch, as well, before the chill settled in, and perhaps, by then, he'd return to the shelter to see what sort of progress had been made there.

For now, though, he was going to enjoy spoils of the sea and the incredible display of lights on the rickshaws passing by at a distance.

There was someone else who was determined to make the most of whatever good days there were left. Dwight and a rather energetic pup were walking the beach, enjoying the nicer weather.

It was a good chance to let Snoopy run and burn off some of that puppy energy while Dwight got some time to think over the events of the past few days (which really wasn't all that good of a thing really).

And that slightly distracted state is probably why he didn't notice Sidon right away.

That truly was a testament to Dwight's level of distraction, then! Sidon was typically a bit hard to miss!

Still, he had no problems at all attempting to snag the man's attention with a bright, boisterous greeting and a wave of his arm. "Say, hey, there!" he called. "Dwight! And Dwight's tiny fuzzy friend! So good to see someone else enjoying this positively accessible weather this fine moderate day!"

Ok that definitely caught Dwight's attention as he turned and looked out over the water, giving Sidon a wave in reply.

"Hey, Sidon my friend. Enjoying a swim while the weather still holds?"

Dwight leaned over and scratched Snoopy behind the ears for a moment.

"Figured we might as well get some of this energy out before the snows start to fall and this little guy gets to experience it for the first time."

"Any day without ice is a day to be seized!" Sidon declared happily, and, with that, he swam back slightly, to give himself a bit more room to make the powerful surge forward that allowed him the ability to leap out of the water (with an ostentatious height and likely unnecessary flip), so that he might land on the beach in a smooth crouch to better speak with Dwight without shouting....and hopefully not frighten the pup too terribly in the meantime.

"Why," he remarked with delight as he straightened and looked down at man and pup, "imagine that! He's just as small up close as he seemed far away!"

Granted, most things were considerably smaller to Sidon than to others, but still!

Dwight grinned as he stood up, the squirming pup in his arms.

"Aye he's small but he's a brave pup" Dwight stated with am almost proud smile. "Didn't let the flamingos at the pond push him around at all the other day."

He watched a moment as the pup gave a small growl and then a playful bark at the towering Zora, as if asking who- or what- he was.

"That's the spirit!" Sidon said with an approving pump of his fist and the sort of smile that allowed his fangs to glint just right in the sun. "Let them know not to mess with this mighty canine right from the start! Not with a powerful bark like that, anyway!"

"Ah yes, quite ferocious he is" Dwight said with a laugh.

"So, how have you been? I know classes end soon and the weather is definitely making it where outings like this will soon be non-existent. What are your plans for the winter? Heading back to... Hyrule is it?"

"Hyrule is correct," Sidon confirmed with a nod, "and that was rather the original plan; try as I might, Zora constitutions are not built for New England winters! So I assumed I would have to step back from my more scholarly inclinations here on the island and retreat to the more temperate climes of my beloved home, but then it struck me! The most spectacular of ideas, a most inspired solution!"

And here he paused, expectantly, leaving it open for Dwight to inquire further, because it made for good dramatic effect, and because stories were best when interactive!

"Oh?" Dwight asked glancing up and up at Sidon. "Figure out a way to keep from freezing without being totally landlocked all winter?"

There were a few options that came to Dwight's mind. None that he would utter out loud. Though the mental image of Sidon finding a hot tub of some kind big enough for him to lounge in was a bit of an amusing image.

While Sidon did rather enjoy the onsen and had considered it for themis particular purpose, he somehow did not think the staff would be keen on overnight visitors. And it was a bit warm for that long; they may very well end up with Zora soup in the morning!

"Indeed I have!" he reported proudly, puffing his chest out a little as his fists pumped together at his sides this time. "Why, the solution was found in none other than my very own old stomping grounds, the Furnado Animal Shelter, the very same place where, so very recently, I assisted you in acquiring entertainment for your pugnacious little pup! I figured, those old fish tanks could use a little upgrade, really, and, while we were at it, perhaps we might kill two lizalfos with one stone, and consider a larger tank, with multiple uses! I should certainly hope the fish wouldn't mind the extra company too terribly!"

Dwight considered all that for a moment, sizing Sidon up (as if there was any need to verify his sheer size) and nodded.

"Given a large enough tank, I'm sure that could work out quite well" Dwight replied. "I'm sure it would be little trouble to ~~handwavey~~ fix something up here in the next week before the weather completely turns on us. Sounds like a good work around for you."

A slight pause as Dwight thought about the inevitable snows and blizzards and ice that was coming their way.

"I'm a bit more accustomed to the cold of winter" he said with a chuckle. "Spent much of my life north of here actually so we probably got worse storms and snows up in Maine than we will here."

"Well," said Sidon with a chuckle, "I cannot speak for the winters there in Maine, but I do know they can often be quite brutal here as well! I remember one particular winter where the snow was so bad, it veritably bred monstrous snow creatures that did everything in their power to destroy the island and tear down all our sources of power! But we all persevered and fought them back! In fact, there was a valiant effort on the part of myself, my dear lady love Vette, and my good friend Prompto to make a stand and protect all the animals in the shelter! It was quite the magnificent standoff!"

And it involved a hair dryer, too!

"Well as thrilling as that sound and as disappointed as I am at having missed it, let's hope this winter is a bit calmer eh?" Dwight said shaking his head.

Oh ye who are still a noob.... if only you knew Dwight, if only you knew...
