The candles in the window had inspired the ivy garland going up to trim the bar anywhere there weren't lights, so while the place was definitely looking decorated, at least it was tastefully so.

While Tino did that, Kitty put up the flyers advertising the New Year's party at Caritas.

Which was why she was also testing drink recipes leading up to it.

Jessica eyed the drink specials for a moment and after careful consideration made her choice of beverages.

"Bourbon," she said, sitting down and making herself comfortable. "How've you been Kitty?"

"Hey!" Kitty smiled. "I've been good. How about you? Haven't seen you for a while."

"I'm fine. Had a case back home regarding my... regarding the Luke Cage in my dimension," Jessica replied wearily. "Spent months in Savannah Georgia corroborating evidence. Then I stopped off in New York to see a friend before coming here and dealing with flying mistletoe and parade of chickens wearing capes in my kitchen."

"Yeah, that's December for you," Kitty said, getting a glass snd the bottle. "You glad to be back, chickens aside?"

"Well it's either dealing with chickens or dealing with people in New York. People here are nicer. Generally," Jessica admitted. "Plus I'm less likely to get thrown in the drunk tank here for Christmas than New York."

Jessica took the drink and drained it before responding. "Well if you're ever drunk in New York, I highly recommend the one in the 15th precinct. If sergeant Jefferson is on duty he provides clean towels."

She pushed the glass back for a refill.

"Still I'd probably prefer fighting inflatable reindeer."

"We'll probably have something slightly different this year," Kitty told her, refilling the glass. "Maybe we get like, murderous elves this time."

Jessica paused and mulled that over for a second before taking the drink. "I can deal with killing elves."

"I'd like to not have to kill anything, but you never know with this place," she said.

"Well if comes down between me and little toymakers coming at me with tools to kill me, I'm taking down the elves," Jessica said solemnly. "Plus those stop motion ones on those Christmas specials always freaked me out as a kid."
