The Perk, Friday Afternoon (Sunday)
The staff of the Perk were used to shenanigans. Weird lights? New piece of island? Pfft. The only person who was even a little taken aback was the newbie, and they had already dealt with advent this year.
No, the baristas made their coffee, tables were cleaned, and the Perk's seats were free and cosy to anyone looking to read the paper just obviously enough to invite conversation. Come on, get it while it's hot!
[[ feel free to ping in and use this for all your perk needs. ]]

The barista gave her a pitying look, and 10% off her order.

“Just dump a truck of chocolate in that thing and hand it to me,” she told the barista.

Anyway she had totally not forgotten to ping in yesterday.Screw it, just because she was celebrating her birthday for the third day in a row, she was not going to consider herself, like, thirty or something now, yikes.
She staked out her table near the door for the third day in a row and laid out her notebooks and laptop and dice, making sure to keep a spot clear for her drink this time.
Which --
"I'm mixing it up on this version of today," she announced to the barista, loud enough that anyone in the vicinity
who might need tomight be able to hear. "Just give me the biggest Red Eye you can." In a lower voice she muttered, "This kind of thing usually works in the movies -- I can't believe I actually just said that."The barista gave her a weird, weird look.
"What?" She hadn't expected to be living out this episode of Bitterwoman, okay? "That's how the trope usually goes, right?"
The weird look just got more intense.
"Never mind."

And luckily for her she waited till after she got her drink before picking a fight with a barista about it being Sunday, out of sheer frustration.
Could you be gaslit by an island? What about by Friday radio notes?

handwavelybroken out of the closet Amaya had locked him in this morning when had stopped by. Something about 'for your own good' and vague nonsense that made no sense, whatsoever.... not that anything this day so far was making any sense at all to him. Even for a Friday... in Fandom... things were weirder than usual it seemed. It was almost... almost feeling like he was back in Haven dealing with some messed up Trouble event."Extra large coffee with espresso" he said to the barista who gave him a somewhat sympathetic look as he got his drink and took a seat at the nearby table.
What in the world was going on?
