Kitty had spent the day at the zoo. There had been a couple stuffed animals in it for Lexi for putting up with the constant "we'll go tomorrow." It wasn't so much that her kid was going to be spoiled as much as it was a method of desperately trying to balance out all the weirdness Lexi already had to deal with.

Tonight was being spent going back and forth between the bar and the back room, where she and Tino were putting up the tree that would stay up through the New Year's party. She was trying to talk him out of making ornaments out of those mini liquor bottles but honestly it might not be a terrible idea?

If anyone were to ask Rosa's opinion on the mini-bottle ornaments, she thought it was great idea....so long as Kitty didn't mind probably half of them going missing by the end of New Year's party, a good handful of them thanks to Rosa herself.

But, as it was, she was walking up to the bar and having a seat and giving Kitty a nod like she hadn't actually been gone for pretty much a month.

"Kitty."

She listened to radio.

And just off the bad, Rosa grunted with her thoughts on that little detail. "Of course," she said, "when I get back it's right in the middle of this place doing a thing. At least I got to shoot people, though."

Priorities!

"Also, please get me something good and strong tonight," she added. "It's been far too long since I've had anything boozy that wasn't pilfered communion wine."

Well, Rosa was going to go for something straight, but if you were going to force her hand, Kitty...

"I am always up for testing party cocktails," she assured her, firmly and now very immoveable on that fact. "The weirder, the better."

It'd taken Steph most of the day to catch up on her backlog of email both business and personal, field a couple of phone calls from the group she used to LARP with back in Colorado (she hadn't let them know she bailed, whoops, and they were going to have to find a new co-organizer), and, you know, run the store. After that plus the, uh, non-weekend she figured she'd earned a few drinks.

"Woooooo, I survived my first big really fucking weird thing here," she announced as she took a seat at the bar. "Hit me."

"Mmmmmmm..." Steph took a quick look at the bottles behind the bar. "Tempting to go for the Irish coffee I couldn't get the Perk to make me, but... Moscow Mule," she decided, finally.

"Done," Kitty said, going to start making the drink. "So you're a newbie, huh?"

"Couple months now, give or take. Is there a general time frame before you're considered not a newbie any more?" asked Steph.

"So, the great thing about being at the zoo all day is Lexi was already asleep when the babysitter showed up," Clint said, taking a seat. Did he need a beer to deal with parental guilt? Maybe! "We officially wore her out, good job."

Kitty raised her hand for a high five. "If she asked for a pony today I might have given in."

Clint laughed and gave her the high five. "It might be a better investment to put that money towards the eventual therapy bill we're going to have to foot. 'My parents refused to believe what day of the week it was' is going to cost us extra."

"She's still too young to remember it," Kitty said. "I hope. Some things from now might end up creeping in there..."

"I hope so," Clint said. "I know it's stupid, but I'm allowed to be annoyed that Lexi gets affected by this stuff, right? It was easier to deal with this place's weirdness when it was just us."
