Valentine's Dance, Friday Evening, Community Center

It was Valentine's Day weekend, and that meant love was in the air - only metaphorically, thank goodness. The community center had been decorated in the gaudiest of decorations - construction paper hearts, streamers, balloons in various shades of pink, red, and white, and of course, as much of the glitter supplies as possible.

Do you know how hard it is to glitter balloons? Hopefully someone would appreciate these creative efforts.

The food tables were filled with a variety of savory goods and plenty of chocolate. There was also regular punch and hot cocoa, neither of which had been tainted yet.

It was time for some fun with those you love, or at least fondly tolerate!

Kurt was definitely out of his comfort zone with this whole party thing. He hadn't even planned on showing up really. One, parties really weren't his thing and two, he didn't have anything nice to wear. At least.... that was until a package arrived for him earlier that week. It had been from Logan and Scott, saying they had heard there was a dance coming up and they wanted to make sure he had something decent to wear.

So there Kurt was in the simple suit they had sent. It wasn't bad, though Kurt was pretty sure it had actually been Storm or Kitty that had picked it out in reality.

But in any case, he was there and was trying not to look too out of place.

Unfortunately, no one had conveniently left appropriate formal wear in Vi's size anywhere she could stumble across it, so her outfit was less fancy and more cleanest.

He wasn't Luther or Allison, thanks.

But he was, however, glaring at the glitter for daring to get on his knee socks.

High school Valentine's dances were a little quaint for Alexis' tastes. But she was also kind of party-starved here, so she dolled herself up and went,.

"Ew. Do I already have glitter on me?"

Harry would say he was pretty bad at dances. He showed up anyway. It was easy enough to go in a nice shirt and pants and no one was making him dance so it was fine.

Libby had never been to something like this in her life, not even a church social, so she was absolutely bewildered about it and what to do, but she did have on her nicest dress (even though she knew it really wasn't mucj), twisted a few braids in her hair, and...well....went to the dance, she supposed.

Maybe with a small mild panic over not really knowing how to dance, but maybe it wouldn't actually come up?

Jo’s dress was very lacy, long and white and she was looking forward to spending the evening at the dance.

Guillermo did not have any experiences with dances since he had not gone to them at his old schools and he didn’t own a suit but he was still decently dressed in a top and black jeans.

Alara’s dress was a dark mauve colour the same as the icon, she hadn’t been to a lot of dances so she was making an effort to be at this one.

Kiem hadn't been sure what was considered suitable clothing for dances like this, so he had looked online and come up with a decently fitting suit.

"I could probably have gone for something more colourful," he said to himself when he arrived.

Vi's main motivation in coming had been the promise of (even more) free food, so here by the tables was where she intended on staying.

Kurt decided that if there was food being offered he was going to grab him something. He had worked up quite the appetite with all the handwavey porting he had been doing around the island all day. So he helped himself to some of the food, making good use of his tail to hold the cup of punch so he could keep his hands free to eat.

There was a nice mix of fast songs and romantic tunes so everyone had something to dance to.
