Yeah, yeah, okay, okay. Since the religion angle seemed to be pretty hot and gaining some traction in the whole Chocobro Situation, discovering that book could be a pretty big deal. Buuuut, if you asked Summer, the best part about it was that it inspired a pretty sick jello set for the bar that evening, which was way better than her original plan of some random shit plus maybe a Pride preview or two.

And even though she knew it wouldn't get to him, Summer was definitely taking a shot of the full set and a description of them to Ignis. Maybe he could still, like, appreciate them in spirit.

And speaking of spirit...after she got everything set up for the night, she did consider the shots and also considered arranging them in certain ways that might feel vageuly arcane. As if making some sort of summoning circle, because, hey, you never knew! She knew Eos had demons; maybe they just had to go occult with this shit or something.

"We have been inspired" Summer explained, already starting to line the shots up for Lucifer, "by some dusty old book I found behind a dresser in an abandoned bedroom."

"These are based on the Astrals," she offered, a little further, "the six deities of Eos."

Lucifer tilted his head. "I didn't realize she had six deities, but my Greek may be rusty."

There was a small pause for confusion.

"Not Eos the goddess," she clarified, "Eos the planet. But now that you mention it, that place really does seem to have a major hard-on for borrowing from this planet's shit."

"Oh," Lucifer said, reaching for one shot without even looking to see what it was. "Haven't heard of the place, is it nice?"

"Probably not at the moment," Summer said. "It's war-torn and portal-blocked. And I've never actually been."

"Sounds depressing," Lucifer said, frowning. "Those gods can't be doing a great job."

"No," Summer agreed with a snort, "but they are pretty.

"And, hey! Speaking of gods not doing a great job," she added cheerfully, because, man, she was killing it with these segues lately, "how are you doing, Lucifer?"

Sorry. She really couldn't just let that one go.

"I'm all right, bar that Eric has befouled my piano again and I am considering further steps against him."

Spoiler: it was not actually Eric's fault this time.

"Oooooooh," Summer looked mildly impressed, maybe a little extra so while speculating on why her previous jab didn't even garner so much as a withering look. Because of course she would. "Are we in for yet another epic Devil's Nest pissing contest?"

Lucifer was a distractable mind very much capable of missing a jab if he was fixated on something else. "It's not a pissing contest," he retorted. "He spray-painted my piano pink!"
