Summer had seriously been considering putting up a sign charging extra for advice after talking with Rey on Friday, but after fielding some texts with Liz yesterday, she may have changed her tact just a little. She was still putting up a sign, she just took it in a slightly different direction:

The Advice is FREE.
You'll only pay for it later when you don't TAKE it.

If anything, she figured it would make for a pretty decent conversation piece at the bar, although, she would also like to note that rarely was there a need for a prompt for such a thing, because she was an awesome fucking bartender, goddammit.

The last several days had not been fun and Goose had finally managed to be granted leave to return to Fandom after being on security detail at a conference for senators who were fundraising for elections.

He quickly stopped at his apartment and dropped off his things before heading across the street to the bar, “I think I need double of everything tonight,” he decided and then noticed the sign, “did I miss something while I was gone?” He asked with a tilt of his head.

Summer shrugged her shoulders a little as she started setting up a nice line of shots for Goose, first one line, then the second. "Not really," she said. "Nothing new about people asking for my advice and then not taking it. I just figured this was a good warning sign to everyone that I'm about two seconds away from actually charging them for the privilege of ignoring me."

But now that the shots were set, she tilted her head curiously. "Any reason we're going double tonight?" she asked. "Other than the obvious that they're amazing and worth the splurge, of course."

“Oh,” Goose blinked, “why would people ignore you, you give great advice,” Summer and Ignis were pretty much the only reason he hadn’t even gone and confronted Walsh after he learned the truth about his parentage.

He paused as he reached for one of the shots, “A group of senators, including Senator Wheiner,” Goose made a face at mentioning one of his least favourite people, “were holding a political fundraising conference for elections and decided they needed all the Series 5 team present for security detail, I couldn’t get out of it and I tried …Captain Foxx threatened a court martial if I didn’t go, even though I’m starting to think I should have taken the court martial … it would have been less painful then sitting through that conference,”

"I do give great advice," Summer agreed, "but some people are morons."

Like, seriously, look at that. Even the absolute dictionary definition of 'Big Giant Himbo' right here knew better!

"And yeah, that sounds fucking awful. Was there at least, like, a Defcon-5 Level suspicious threat of underground terrorist activity threatening to fuck shit up or, like, I don't know, poison the punchbowl that would even call for that kind of need for security? Or was it all supposed to be some kind of big political flex, like, oh, look at us, we're so important, we need Series Fiiiiiiiiive here, look at how we will definitely not at all waste your money on totally superfluous things like excessive security details, so give us more! sort of thing?"

“It was definitely the latter - they all have their own private security, so I don’t know why they needed us there, I think it was just to show they could, Wheiner probably had something to do with it - I wouldn’t put it past him,” Goose sighed and then downed the first couple of shots, “I would have much rather have been at Pride, how did that go by the way?” he asked and then paused, “oh and happy birthday for the other day,” he added, remembering that it had been Summer’s birthday around the same time as well.

"I would like the strawberry margarita one," Annie greeted Summer as she slid onto a barstool, "for my service in the park today or where the hell ever shenanigans took place." And then as she considered the sign a little further, she added, "And I have two things. First of all, and most importantly: have a good day on Sunday?"

Annie's smile was apologetic and sincere as she asked, because she'd spent the day in a different rainbow-covered environment -- Queen Maeve's Inclusive Kingdom at VoughtLand, of course -- and still felt kind of bad. Especially given how big a deal the 19th had been last year.

Summer was just going to go ahead and set that well-earned strawberry margarita one in front of Annie with a particular note of pride because the ones that came in their own edible container were the best ones, and then she preened a little before getting around to that answer.

"I did," she assured her. "It was very low-key, very chill, very the opposite of last year, but I think, after last year, that's probably a good thing. How was your weekend?"

Because, like, yes, even if Summer hadn't been playing it cool with her birthday this year, Annie would totally get a pass because, like, seriously. Annie always got a pass.

"Good. You deserve the best and most chill of birthdays," Annie said firmly, because Summer having a low-key but pleasant birthday was so important that if it hadn't been good, Annie was fully prepared to whisk her away from this very bar to rectify the fact.

Look, she had an assistant. Maybe she could get that sweet Australian treehouse again.

"And I'm fine. Busy. Diego and I are on the cover of People this week," she shared, splaying her hands in front of her as though presenting something. "Starlight and Fiancé at Home. It went pretty okay, I think. We're gonna have to watch Vought for racism, but what else is new."

"And Fiancé ?" Summer repeated with a snort. "I'd say that that was insulting, but it's Diego, so I'm also sure that even that was a little...." She lifted her hands, "'hey, whoa, hold on, getting a little specific on the personal details there.' Also, I'm going to need, like, five copies of that People magazine, and I will gladly write an email dissecting everything problematic with the article with an impassioned reminder to do better next time and send it to both the editors and your PR team."

Who should really just hire Summer on at this point, but doing it this way was way more fun for her.

Stark frowned a little at Summer's sign, wondering if he ought to ask what prompted it or if it was better to leave that alone.

"You made brownies?" He asked instead, nodding toward the list of specials instead. "Hello, Summer."

It was turning out to be a pretty interesting social experiment, really, which she hadn't intended, to see who took note of it and that it apparently managed to pique some curiosity.

"Hello, Stark. I did make brownies," Summer confirmed, already taking the initiative to fetch said brownie for Stark. "Ones with jello and booze. I felt a little....inspired."

Randomly. Out of no where. For no reason.

"The other brownies were great," Summer informed Stark, "but no surprise there. And the rest of my birthday was very low-key and very chill and handwavey and vaguely modded af and nice. A good sort of....palate-cleanser, so that I'm good and ready to go balls-to-the-walls with it again next year."

"No," said Summer with a smirk, "because apparently you avoiding the park also means avoiding the bar on Wednesdays, too! But I'm glad you somehow managed to find it tonight, Travis, how've you been?"
