Caritas; Wednesday [06/29].
If Summer needed any more convincing that she was way overdue for a nice little jaunt into space for a few days, yesterday's phone call with Liz definitely did it. But she was glad she stuck around through Wednesday, even if she'd gotten sucked into this week's shenanigans. She couldn't really complain, though, she'd been getting off pretty easy on that front this summer.
She could complain about her co-worker, though.
"No, Tino," she insisted, yet again, as she put the finishing touches on the specials' board, "I am still not interested in your timeshare in the Poconos, nor will I ever be. It's bad enough having to share bar space with you."
Besides, those weren't even the good mountains.

The Stage - 06/29.
The Bar - 06/29.
On another planet, maybe, but definitely not the Poconos.
Re: The Bar - 06/29.
He also hadn’t really been sleeping or eating properly since he’d been back from his assignment last week.
“I still haven’t had any luck getting through,” Goose announced by way of greeting as he sat down at his usual spot at the bar, “I just don’t know what else I can try at this point,”
Re: The Bar - 06/29.
The sympathy went a little deeper now, because she knew how Goose felt about that word.
Re: The Bar - 06/29.
Re: The Bar - 06/29.
There was a good chance, considering that it was Goose, that it was weighing on him a lot more than even he realized.
"I'm sure we'll hear something soon," she offered hopefully, although she sincerely leaned far more toward the possibility that they might never actually hear from them again, but cynicism was not what either Goose or Liz needed right now. "In the meantime, you just...do what you can to just keep on as normal, you know? I feel like that's the sort of thing Ignis would want..."
A pause, followed by a faint grin.
"Well, that, and you still managing to not burn the apartment building down with your cooking, anyway."
Which he hadn't! So good job!
Re: The Bar - 06/29.
He did smile softly at that as he downed his first shot, “I’ve managed to avoid doing that,” he sounded rather proud at that accomplishment and paused, “I haven’t done much cooking in a while though, I should change that,”

"Interesting collection there," he said with a nod towards the special boars. "One of these things is not like the other..." he added with a slight smirk.
Re: The Bar - 06/29.
She admired her handiwork for a moment before setting it in front of Billy, and then just following it up with the other three since, well, you come in here not specifying, and Summer will more than likely just show them all at you.
"How's it going, Billy?"
Re: The Bar - 06/29.
Billy kind of eyed the jello shot then then Summer. And of course he was going to try all of them... the only question was to either get that last one down first and over with, or hope he got buzzed enough before to not notice it at much.... Both approaches had their benefits.
"Things are going alright. Other than the Porgs that have been showing up at the shop the last few days."
Re: The Bar - 06/29.
"It's only once they start demanding paychecks," she added a moment later, "that you have to start worrying."
You hear that, cheese panda?
Re: The Bar - 06/29.
As he thought about it he grabbed the first jello shot. He checked to make sure it was not the sauerkraut one and then downed it.
"That was pretty good" he said when he finished. "That butterscotch I taste?"

(And suspicious, because of the sauerkraut one.)
Re: The Bar - 06/29.
And since asking a question about a shot was practically the same thing in Summer's book as requesting to try it, she went and got that one to set in front of Annie as she explained.
"The little stars," she said, "denote the vegan shots. Although, at this point, I don't know why I even bother, the person I'm specifying them for showed up once and I haven't seen him in here since."
But she prided herself in being a good bartender, so a vegan shot would be making it on the specials board each week anyway, just in case.
Re: The Bar - 06/29.
"I mean, it's still very nice of you to offer a vegan option for the apparently one vegan we have on the island," Annie noted, plucking up the shot. "Not that I think I realized jello shots weren't vegan in the first place."
Like, obviously some of them had milk or whatever, she was not stupid. Just ignorant about the origins of gelatin.
Re: The Bar - 06/29.
There was a reluctant pause, since, you know, she would like Annie to have more jello shots, buuuut...
"Like, seriously, if people really knew what jello's made out of, all the complaints about some of the shit I put into some of these shots seems a little....counter-intuitive."
Re: The Bar - 06/29.
And, honestly, not that Annie knew this, but she was gonna need all the tiny little comforts and stress-relievers she could handle in the next few months.

"Pop tart jello?" He was going to be absolutely delighted when he saw they looked like tiny pies. "Hello, Summer."
Re: The Bar - 06/29.
"Pop Tart Jello," Summer confirmed, looking delighted in preparation for his delight, because she'd been sitting on this one for a while and was very pleased to present him with one such creation now.
"Hello, Stark," she then greeted back. "How are you today?"
Re: The Bar - 06/29.
"It looks like a little pie!" There was the delight. Right on schedule!
"Anakin's nonsense was ridiculous, as always. But I'm alright today, I think. How are you?"
Re: The Bar - 06/29.
"Overall?" she said. "Not bad. It's definitely been a month, but I'm taking the weekend off to sort of ~recharge~, and it's long overdue. And I didn't think the shenanigans were that bad today. Like, I'm almost disappointed it wasn't something weirder when I finally get roped into it."
She did kind of land on a 'do something you do naturally' kind of challenge, though.
Re: The Bar - 06/29.
"They weren't terrible. Just odd, as always." He hadn't need to hug Anakin to share the slime or anything today at least.
"Are you going somewhere this weekend then? Taking yourself to your spa?"
