One of the first things Summer noticed when she came into the bar that night for her shift was that Zombie Yoko seemed to be sporting some brand new bandages around her inner thighs, and, before she could really stop herself, Summer muttered out an "Oof. What happened there?"

And so Tino told her, and her brows lifted, and she still couldn't seem to stop herself before she asked, "Burns from what?"

Thankfully, though, as Tino opened his mouth to answer, Summer finally thought better of it and lifted her hands and cut in quickly with a, "You know what? Never mind. Forget I asked. I am one thousand percent sure that I do not want to know."

And with that, she was going to focus entirely on her bartending now, thank you.

A girl and a droid walked into a bar.

"Stay away from the stage," Rey told BB-8, and he beeped a question. "No, they're not dangerous. They're just working."

And when he was okay with that, Rey took a seat at the bar and asked of the specials, "Why has one got an asterisk?"

"Awwww, Rey, nooooo," said Summer, who was just naturally inclined to go all heart-eyes over BB-8 rolling into the bar right now....at least, you know, until the potentially inevitable moment where he gained enough sentience to rise up against all humans, but droid in Rey's world seemed far less inclined toward that sort of thing like they were in hers. "Do you know how much I would give to see BB-8 karaoke right now???"

Liiiike....

"And the asterisk denotes a vegan one," she offered, easily enough. "Because no, jello is not vegan, and yes, you're probably better off not knowing more about that."

Just to skip through any expected repeats of beats had in her conversation with Annie about that exact thing last week.

"...Let's try that one," Rey decided, not asking further questions. She'd forget about it by next week. "And I guarantee you BB-8 doesn't know the songs here yet."

Summer nodded, having had a feeling that was going to be the case (re: the jello, not the songs, that was everyone's excuse), and set one very ceremoniously down in front of Rey.

"Couldn't you just, like, download them?" she asked. It seemed like that would work! "But, also, I don't even care what he's singing, he could just make random beeps in a vaguely harmonious fashion and I'd be set."

She gave Rey a faint smile, though, as if to assure her she wouldn't press the issue, even if it was clearly depriving the world of a Thing That Should Totally Happen, before she asked, "So, to what do we owe the pleasure of our little round friend's visit this week?"

There was a high-pitched noise of delight from across the bar that may -- perhaps -- have heralded Annie's arrival before she was hurrying over to say hi to BB-8.

Also, Rey. Hello to you, Rey. But BB-8!

"Is it bring your adorable robot friend to the bar day and I missed it?" Not that Annie had any other adorable robot friends. (She'd kind of had one for a minute, but then she'd been crushed in a collapsing mansion, so.)

"He's staying with me for a while, and I didn't want him to be alone in the apartment on his first night," Rey explained.

"Oh, no, we can't have that," Annie agreed in what might have been called a coo, as she knelt to give BB-8 a little pat. "Everything's okay?"

It would change things slightly if BB-8 was visiting thanks to trouble back home or something.

"You brought your robot friend," Stark said, walking over to say hello. "Wait. Robot isn't the right word, is it?"

"Droid. But I don't think robot is offensive," Rey told him. "He's staying with me for a little while."

Yes Goose and now with the right account had stopped by to see Summer on Monday but it was Wednesday night and of course he was at the bar, “hi Summer,”
he grinned as he came up to his usual spot, “how have you been?” because it had been so long since he had seen her and all.

"Nothing too weird," Wednesday activities notwithstanding, "has happened between now and the last time we talked," Summer offered, as she already feel into that natural rhythm of lining up Goose's jello shots and shoving them gently forward on the bar toward him, "so I'm definitely taking that as a big fat win. How about yourself?"

“Not a whole lot, working on class for tomorrow,” Goose admitted, as he reached for the first shot, “been trying to see if I can do more work on the communicator and try and get through to Ignis but still nothing, I was hoping that the connection might appear again,”

"So, let me rephrase," Annie offered, holding up a placating hand as she pulled out her phone. "I have...several Instagram followers." 193 million was several. "And Vought keeps wanting me to 'go live' spontaneously so they can, like, see my life, right?"

And who better to spring this on than Summer, who would know just what to do on a livestream?

Stark was a little later than usual this evening but he'd had things to clean up in the park (possibly some of it was "cleaned up" by being left in front of Anakin's office door at the school) and then gone back to his apartment where there was quiet and food and an absence of pushy rodents.

"Hello, Summer. No tomato, please." He'd already experienced tomato refreshers a couple of weeks back, thank you.

Hey, look, the theme today was obviously fruit, and a tomato was, technically, a fruit!

But also....fair.

"Hello, Stark," she greeted him back, and since he said no tomato, but nothing about the others, she just went ahead and lined up the other three. "Are you sure? I'm willing to let you go all in on the freebies tonight, since you did such a good job with the shenanigans in Anakin's stead."

And that wasn't even because of the jello one!

It was because of the space theme and the jello one!

And, well, he'd earned it, dammit.

"I don't think I need tomato tonight." Ask him again after a few other shots, Summer, see what happened.

"You had fun today then?" It was a good thing Stark had gotten over (for now) his reluctance to look Summer in the eye because otherwise she might miss the very hopeful look he was giving her. "I'm glad. It was...I did too. Trying to put it together."
