Rey's warehouse- Friday afternoon

It had been another week of Rey trying and failing to contact Luke (the dead one), she was trying not to be too frustrated. After all, he was dead. Maybe it wasn't her fault that it wasn't working. Even though it felt like her fault that it wasn't working.

She'd started meditating a while ago and was still at it, sitting cross-legged on the floor with her eyes closed while BB-8 rolled his way around the warehouse.

Anakin came into the warehouse after his class again. "Rey?"

"Yeah," she said, not opening her eyes quite yet.

Anakin sat down next to her, also closing his eyes.

It was weird to just stare at a meditating person.

"I'm about done," she told him, eyes still closed.

[sith_happened]

"Take your time," Anakin said. "I could use some meditation."

For some reason, the Jedi Code was at the forefront of his mind now.

"All right," Rey said, falling silent to let him do what he needed.

Anakin was quiet, eyes closed as he breathed silently. He finally opened his eyes. "Hello."

"Better?" Rey asked.

[sith_happened]

"Much," Anakin said, smiling. "How was your week?"

[thatwaslucky]

Rey paused, trying to figure out if she should say what specifically was bothering her and whether she would need to talk about the whole of what was going on. She figured she could skip past the big picture.

"Frustrating, in some ways, but mostly okay."

"What parts were frustrating?" Anakin asked, resting his hands on his knees.

The little hesitation here was because Rey knew this would sound insane to anyone who didn't know better. "Have you ever tried to contact a Force ghost?"

Anakin shook his head. "Are you trying?"

[thatwaslucky]

Rey nodded. "Luke. I know Leia talks to him sometimes, but I can't. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if he doesn't want to see me."

And after that visit last year she didn't think that was the case?

"I don't think Force ghosts get to be petty," Anakin said with a light frown.

"Though I also don't think they come on command," Rey said. "So I think I have to be doing something wrong."

"Show me how you're doing it," Anakin suggested.

[thatwaslucky]

"I just talk to him," she said slowly, now really sure she was doing it wrong.

Anakin gave her an encouraging smile. "I'm not saying you need a Ouija board."

[thatwaslucky]

"What do I need?" Rey asked.

[sith_happened]

"If I say patience, will you hit me?" Anakin asked.

[thatwaslucky]

"Of course not," she said. "...How much patience?"

[sith_happened]

"A little more," Anakin said. "I requires patience and absolute calm."

"I can do that," Rey said. "I might have thought I was doing that."

Desperation was calm, right?

"Show me," Anakin urged.
