The Magpie Emporium; Friday, 07/29.

Graham wasn't sure if it was just him or what, but he felt like there was something a little different in the air in the shop that day, one that made him feel a little sad and upset, though he didn't know why. It definitely made him feel like he should have brought Triumph in with him today; that guy could always cheer up a room! And Saffron didn't seem that interested in talking about it (Saffron, in general, did not seem very interested in Graham), but Little Bot seemed very encouraging and positive about the whole thing.

(He thought, anyway. He definitely was not fluent in Robot like he was in most varieties of Animal).

But he did know he wasn't going to let the strange mood affect his game night, so, instead of worrying about it too much, he threw himself into a little bit of prep and planning and some hopefully good things to throw at the group as their adventure continued!

The Magpie Emporium is open!

"So you're like my friend Zo and their brother Owen!" Libby's grin brew a little brighter. "They're a lot older than him, too, their parents said he was a surprise."

She said it like the whole concept was still pretty foreign to her, even though she understood it a lot better than when she heard it the first time.

"And I'd tell you all of my siblings' names, but then we'll be here all day, and we shouldn't post-pone the game."

That joke never got old.

Jo grinned, “I think my parents were relieved when my brother was born,“ she admitted, “I don’t know if I’ll ever have any more siblings though but a boy does make things easier for them, since my brother will inherit everything now,” she paused, “there was a girl in the sixth form at my old school who had seven older brothers and she was the only girl, her name was Wilhelmina but everyone called her Bill,” Jo told her.

"I never thought of Bill being a way to shorten Wilhelmina," Libby admitted, but, then again, she really didn't ever think about a name like Wilhelmina, either. "But I like that..."

Her head tilted.

"Did she like being called Bill?"

"I think she did, there were a lot of stories that got shared about the older girls in first and second years, apparently she was the one who insisted on being called Bill," Jo added, "I never really got to interact with her much,"

Jo was just not going to mention about how her one main interaction with Bill had been the time she and Deidre had run away and Bill and Clarissa had found them while on a horse ride.

Libby just sort of shook her head in wonder, although it wasn't so much about Bill as it was an entirely different detail.

"Did you like going to your other school?" she asked. "It sounds so interesting. Was it a very big school? I get the impression that, compared to other schools, Fandom's actually pretty small."

It was here that Jo did hesitate, “I liked some parts of it,” she admitted, especially since now she could look back on her time at Malory Towers and realise what she was missing out on. She had meant that when she had apologised to Felicity for not owning up that time she had taken Deidre into town when she wasn't supposed to, “It was pretty big, it was big enough to be divided into four towers - North, South, East and West and we all had classes and dormitories and meals in them,” she explained.

"Four towers?" asked Libby. "Sort of like a castle?"

If she wasn't already going to school in a castle! But apparently, castle-schools might be more common than shed have thought! It did make sense, though, that there'd be more castles in England than in America.

"Which tower did you live in?"

“I was in North Tower,” Jo told her, “I suppose it was like a castle, it was a large grey building and the towers were at each end, it was on a cliff that overlooked the Cornish coast,” she added.

"That sounds beautiful!" Libby gushed out a little. "Is that in the English country side? I've always wanted to go there sometime, because that's where the kids go when they find the wardrobe in the meta for Narnia books. There definitely aren't a lot of stories about finding passages to magical lands in rural Tennessee..."

“It is,” Jo told her with a smile, “I was born in London but my parents moved us to our current home in the country because it was safer, when the war started,” she added, she paused, “I don’t think I’ve read those books yet,” even though there were a few parallels with Jo’s own early life, she hadn’t found any magical wardrobes at her home though.
