The beach, late Monday

Travis had said it wouldn't work, but he hadn't yet said it was dangerous, either, and Jon knew people sometimes did bonfires on the beach, so...here he was, on the beach. With an ever-growing pile of luggage, matches, and quite a bit of accelerant.

He'd let Summer know about what he was doing, and he'd planned it with Irene, after all, so he had no doubt word would get out.

Self-loathing was absolutely going to be the basis of this fire. The more it came back, the more tinder it could be.

[Baggage fire! All invited!]

"Can I ask you something without you thinking I'm a complete nut job?" Dwight asked as he grabbed 'ex wife' and 'too broken to be loved' and gave them a toss.

"Do you think it's possible... in some way... for emotional baggage to be a good thing? Or to serve a purpose?"

Dwight looked at the already impressive flames and absent mindedly fiddled with the straps to the knapsack he had on his back.

"Like, can there be something that hurts when you think about it but at the same time is something you actually care about and cant bring yourself to part with?"

"Yeah... maybe you're right" Dwight said, grabbing up the bag with "Tavin" on it and chucking it into the blaze with an almost smile on his face as he did.

"Need help with that?" he asked, nodding to the newly arrived bag.

No condescending tone. No judgement. He did see what the bag said but he wasn't going to do Jon like that and call him out on it or anything. That knapsack was still staying where it was though.
