The Magpie Emporium; Friday, 09/09.

Reporting on Steph's intentions to rearrange the comics on the radio that morning had Graham a little more curious about that aspect of the Emporium himself, which was a dangerous venture, because he was very easily distracted, and comics were, for the most part, very interesting, and what started as just a few cursory flips through a few pages to see what this one or that one were all about lead to Graham being all too easily sucked into practically blowing through most of them cover to cover without even realizing it and without even realizing that, by doing so, he wasn't really getting a whole lot of work done.

Not that there was much work, of course, but still!

He would definitely make the argument, though, that this was sort of work. Product knowledge was important! And he clearly had a lot to catch up on in this world, so it was just...professional research! Yeah! That was it!

And next week, he was definitely going to have to bring in Triumph for a professional research day, too, because, oh man, he would love some of these comics, and he was honestly feeling a little sad that he hadn't brought his trusty steed with him that day, because new experiences were always best when shared with a friend.

The Magpie Emporium is open!

Jo had her usual boxes of sweets and chocolates as she turned up for this week's session, “hello,” she smiled as she arrived, looking forward to the evening.

"Not to bad thank you," Jo smiled, "at least this week seems to have been a lot quieter than last week, there weren't any fires in the library today,"

This week Guillermo’s pie making adventures had resulted in him making a blueberry pie, he also had his usual empanadas but this week he had also decided to make some churros as well.

“Hi,” he smiled brightly as he arrived carrying his usual large containers of food.

Guillermo grinned, "it's been pretty good," he told him as he placed down his containers of food, "I was able to get a fair bit of cooking done today, so that was nice, I ... I made a blueberry pie this week if you'd like to try it," he added shyly.

By delicious coincidence, Vi had run into the cart selling the hot jam filled doughnuts on the way over, and came in juggling a large steaming paper bag.

"If you like the churros you'll like these too," Vi promised, fishing out a sugar-encrusted doughnut and blowing on it before taking a bite. "Just be careful, the jam's still hot."

Dutifully, Libby came bearing the baby carrots and celery sticks and colorful little cherry tomatoes because they'd looked pretty good when she saw them at the store, and if she was going to be the one bringing the healthier snacks, she might as well diversify. She set them all out and tried to nudge them in the pathway of the other foods so that maybe a wandering hand on the way toward a sweet might feel a little bit of guilt and divert, even if momentarily, to the veggies.

It was, if anything, a valiant effort.

Kurt arrived for game night bearing several bags filled with different foods. A random bit of assortment there were some cookies but also a big container of spaetzle noodles with meatballs and garlic sauce. He also had a container of fizzy watermelon and mint drink too.

"Hey Graham!" he said with a grin. "Got more for the food table!"

"Been good. Classes are going well and...." Kurt thought back to that one highlight he was still not quite over just yet as he glanced over at Libby. "It's been really good." He gave Graham a smile. "How about you?"

Libby was looking across the table with a particular curiosity at the drink that Kurt had brought with him, tilting her head with interest. "Is that the same watermelon drink," she wondered, "that you brought for ou--" A little blush sprung up on her cheeks as she altered her wording, just a little, "--the picnic on Saturday?"

"Aye that it is!" Kurt said with a grin and flush of his own. "It turned out so good I figured it might work well for game night."

And then the awkwardness fell a bit as he gave Libby a shy smile.

"Did you get the photos I handwavely sent you the other day? I had a few good ones on my phone from the.... picnic."

Jo considered her response, “ Deirdre decides that she wants to try and help and she looks around for anyone who might need help getting to safety," she paused, "she hasn't forgotten about the goblin though and as she moves to help, she does still keep a careful watch out for him for what he might try and do in the chaos,"

Jo smiled at that last bit, "I think Deirdre is going to go with the flow for now and keep doing her best to help," she nodded.
