Reporting on Steph's intentions to rearrange the comics on the radio that morning had Graham a little more curious about that aspect of the Emporium himself, which was a dangerous venture, because he was very easily distracted, and comics were, for the most part, very interesting, and what started as just a few cursory flips through a few pages to see what this one or that one were all about lead to Graham being all too easily sucked into practically blowing through most of them cover to cover without even realizing it and without even realizing that, by doing so, he wasn't really getting a whole lot of work done.

Not that there was much work, of course, but still!

He would definitely make the argument, though, that this was sort of work. Product knowledge was important! And he clearly had a lot to catch up on in this world, so it was just...professional research! Yeah! That was it!

And next week, he was definitely going to have to bring in Triumph for a professional research day, too, because, oh man, he would love some of these comics, and he was honestly feeling a little sad that he hadn't brought his trusty steed with him that day, because new experiences were always best when shared with a friend.

Firday- Community Center Class: Practical Woodworking for Beginners

"Well, we survived the painful introductions, now on to the fun stuff," Dwight said as he addressed those who had gathered for the class that day. "We are going to start off with a simple overview of the topic of this class-What is woodworking?

Woodworking is the process of making decorative and useful objects from wood. This can include things like cabinets, fine pieces of furniture, bowls, decorative art pieces, musical instruments, and more. It encompasses techniques like wood carving, joinery, and woodturning. The basics are simple in theory but it is with practical and repeated experience and hands-on practice that true woodworking skills start to come out.

That is what the goal of this class is- to have you making creative and practical wood pieces of your own. As civilization has advanced, so has woodworking as a craft. While the fundamentals remain largely unchanged, woodworkers are using modern technology to build new equipment and tools and create more advanced projects. So let's start with some of the basics you need to know!"

Eddie had spruced up the manager's office a bit, adding a couch he had gotten cheap so he had something not a pool table to sleep on. A few Iron Maiden posters and a new guitar and he'd really be at home.

One of the teenagers even gifted him with Christmas lights to put up. Because nothing said "burnout" like Christmas lights in September. Or you were trying to contact someone in the Upside Down. Either/or.

Watts was a man on a mission today, coming in to his office and dumping a stack of papers down on his desk before settling down in his chair (backwards) and starting up the computer. He planned to dedicate today to research. No, not of anything work related, don't be ridiculous.

He had a trip to Portugal to plan, after all.

Fix & Clean- Friday Afternoon

When class- such as it was- finished, Dwight spent the rest of the day mulling around in the shop. He finished putting up the new display case and got it stocked and got the last of the new inventory set out as well. he also checked the handweavey note from Aloy, glad all had gone well for her first shift.

For the rest of the day, Dwight would be alternating between putting some finishing touches on a project he had been fiddling with for a while and sitting at the counter with the laptop in front of him, scowling and glaring at the screen.

Friday: Going Home

Well, this was it. Nell was wearing her original skirt and tunic combination, and had carefully tucked away her phone and charger and two books deep in her pockets. She didn't dare bring anything else back with her. A four year disappearance was going to be hard enough to explain as it was.

Portalocity seemed sure that this portal would be stable, but she honestly didn't have much faith in it to last longer than it took for her to return home.

She took a deep breath and looked around her, taking a last look at the place and people who had supported her. "Thank you for everything you've done for me," she said. "I'll miss you and I'll try to see if I can stay in touch, but I'm not sure that will be possible. You'll all be in my heart, though."



[OOC: Expecting several, but open to anyone who might want to say goodbye to Nell. If you think your character would have heard about her leaving, then they did.

The Devil's Nest, Friday Night

It was Friday, nothing odd was going on, and Lucifer wasn't particularly interested in finding out what Tiny was doing behind the bar with those shotglasses, the twine, the grapef-- no.

He was not.

He'd stay on his end of the club, only occasionally wading in to play piano, and played smartphone games when he wasn't.

It was that time of year again! New people were here! New people to date, get to know, or perhaps make a mortal enemy of!

You never know.

Signs were hung up in front of the bar, both obviously, and easy to miss for anyone who might wander in and get signed up without their knowledge. Above the bar was a banner (in glitter):

Your hostess wasn't gonna question it. And a few minutes before 8:00, she took the stage.

"Hello, everyone! And welcome to Three Minute Dates!" Kitty greeted them. "If you're new to this, the rules are simple. We call your name along with one other person. You talk to this person, get to know their likes, their loves, their dreams. After three minutes, a buzzer will sound-" Pause for the sound. "-and you'll hear your name paired with a different person. Et cetera. If there is anyone you'd like to talk to more, the bar will be open afterwards for drinks and conversation. Remember that any violence will get you transported into the pond, but also please don't attempt violence in order to flee, that is rude to the rest of your dates. Now I'm going to get off the stage. Have fun, and good luck..."

She trailed off, not going to attempt to pronounce the word on that sign.
