Caritas; Wednesday [09/14].

Summer's sangria night headache seemed extra bad today, even if she did try to spend most of her morning and afternoon trying to sleep it off, so she was extra not ready to deal with what was waiting for her when she got to the bar, which was that someone had apparently tried to beat her to the punch with the jello shots and the specials boards.

"I hate you so much right now," she informed him, in no uncertain terms. "And don't you dare say a word to me about karma. And go turn the volume down on the band's equipment. Just a touch."

Which is why, several minutes later, there was a shout of, "Down, Tino! Down! Not up! Ugh."

And that was how Summer got around to actually doing one of the Malort jello shots, because, really, it couldn't actually get worse, right?

Yes, Summer has probably made Malort jello shots before at one point, but that's no excuse, Tino.

Goose tilted his head at the specials board and because he had listened to radio, "I definitely have to try to Tino's Malort," he decided.

It was a given since he was going to be having all the shots anyway but he had been hearing about the Malort quite a bit lately.

Summer sighed a little, but, dutifully, she set one of the Malort shots in front of Goose all the same.

"Yeah," she allowed. "I pretty much expected that."

She was, however, also adding a neat little line of the other shots in front of him as well, because, well, it was Goose.

Goose grinned and took that shot first, “if there’s extras I can help finish them?” he offered.

Goose had not learnt anything from the whole meat seltzer incident it seemed.

He did reach over to pick up the Root Beer float as his next shot.

"Having a bad day?" Dwight asked with a somewhat concerned look as he took his seat at the bar and glanced over at the sign.

"Big sangria night with Rey yesterday," Summer supplied, with the smallest shake of her head. "Some nights seem to hit a little harder than others."

And the last two had been real doozies, too, and this one had included a nice little re-evaluation of her entire life and the perspective of what exactly even makes a good person and why she probably wasn't really one.

"But it's fine," she assured Dwight with a dismissive wave of her hand. "What can I get for you tonight?"

"Lets go with one of each....ummm, other than that marlot one."

Dwight was brave but not that brave!

"Why?" Stark asked, nodding toward the specials board. He didn't need to expand on that, did he?

"And how are you?"

He'd had a sangria night and a raslak night. He knew how this went.

The grumbling groan of a sound that served as Summer's response, she felt, should give him a good indication.

"But it was...good," she added, even though that wasn't really what he asked. "I think it was good for Rey to get some stuff out, you know? And there was leftover pizza."

Which they'd have probably gotten to eventually.

"How has your day been, Stark? And what can I get for you?"

"You could have stayed home tonight," Stark said gently in response to that groan. "I don't think anyone would blame you."

He would, of course, have been very disappointed but there wouldn't have been any blame.

"But I'm glad you're here. And that you could help Rey."

He just assumed it had actually helped. That was what Summer did when drinking heavily with friends. She helped. Obviously.

"Nothing interesting today," he said. "Not for me. I'm fine. Isn't Old Bay for cooking? I'll take a cherry coke and a root beer though. Please."

"I get the rest of the theme, but Old Bay Crush?" Jane ventured slowly.

And no, not touching the Malort again. Not without another jar of cherries to ease the pain.

"It was slightly more interesting than Sprite?" Summer offered, with a shrug, because, honestly, she just needed to mix it up a little and throw something weird in there because she didn't know about the Malort at the time. "Wanna give it a try?"

"Sure," Jane replied with a brave nod that got her stuck with a Malort cocktail yesterday.

Foolhardy choices seemed to be a bit of a Thor thing.

"Why not?"

Oh look, someone remembered he could go out into town and be social, again!

And look, that someone practically caught Tino's attention from the other side of the bar with that question.

"It's an absolutely terrible liquor that Chicago has shamelessly unleashed onto the world," Summer offered.

Both of those response should be cause for concern, Travis.

Yeeeeah. Travis flicked his gaze from Summer to Tino and back again.

"And you're letting him serve people jello shots made out of it?"
