Caritas- Tuesday

Kitty was desperately trying to keep the cat off the bar. It'd been cute at first, till the glass got batted off the edge. She'd had Tino clean up and put the cat down on the floor once it was taken care of, only for another glass to get knocked over by a different cat.

So now both your bartenders were holding cats who didn't want to be held but they could not be trusted.

Also the cups were gonna be red and solo today.

Rosa regarded the specials board for a moment before she regarded Kitty.

"What are we?" she asked. "Five?"

"I'm not cleaning up glass all night," Kitty said. "There's been one casualty. We're switching to plastic."

Stupid cute cat.

"....that's fair enough," said Rosa, although that didn't exactly explain away the PB&J of it all, but she liked Kitty, so she'd let it slide.

"Cat-related?" she guessed. "Or something else?"

"Cat-related," she said, as hers tried to squirm away. "I've never trusted anything less now."

"I've been lucky," Rosa noted. "I'm pretty sure most of them met Anna for two seconds and decided it wasn't worth bothering."

Now, if only that dog could have been that good at fending off her employees....

"The one's at the house were the same after getting petted by Lexi," she said. "Maybe I can have Clint bring her over..."

Rosa grinned faintly at that, because she appreciated anyone saying anything that she felt she could count as basically saying having a kid was the exact same as having a dog.

The exact. Same.

"And then we can all drink our peanut butter and jelly cocktails," because she hadn't even touched on that part yet!, "like grown ups instead of high school freshmen."

"Don't knock it till you try it," Kitty said, immediately getting a red solo cup for one.

"Sounds like the cats have been doing more than enough knocking of things around here," Rosa pointed out. "Isn't that what got us into this red Solo cup mess to begin with?"

"Why do I keep walking into these things?" Kitty sighed.

"Well," said Rosa, clearly on point tonight, "walking into things is what you do, so...."

[throughaphase]

"Technically, walking through," Kitty countered.

[died8yearsago]

"Well, technically," Rosa said, "you still have to walk into something in order to walk through it."

[throughaphase]

"But I don't stop and have to move through," she said. "Otherwise things go very badly, I've learned."

"Yeah, okay, fine," Rosa reluctantly acquiesced with a roll of her eyes. "You're right. Way to ruin a perfectly good joke on a technicality."

"You could say I walked into your joke and right on through it," Kitty teased.

"I could," Rosa agreed, shaking her head. "But I won't."

"So, college cocktails?" Tony asked, more than a little relieved to be out of the house and not having to deal with Steve talking to a cat he thought was him.

"Not quite, unless you put Evervlear in it," Kitty joked.

[imafuturist]

"Anything bottom shelf would work," Tony replied. "But... I should be good and have something less hangover worthy."

[throughaphase]

"The peanut butter and jelly is actually good," she warned.

[imafuturist]

"How about a small one then?" And he'd keep it safe from the cats.

[throughaphase]

"Coming right up. The cup will be the same size, don't be fooled," she warned, starting on it.

"Yes, ma'am," Tony replied with a little salute. "Thank you, by the way. For housing Steve there for a bit."

[throughaphase]

"It wasn't a problem," she told him, pouring. "How are things?"

[imafuturist]

Tony took a deep breath before letting out a sigh at the question. "That remains to be seen."

[throughaphase]

"Want to talk about it?" Kitty offered, setting his drink down.

[imafuturist]

"Here I would have thought you'd like to be removed from the Avengers drama," he replied, picking up his cup to toast to her.

[throughaphase]

"First, it sounds like more than Avengers drama," Kitty pointed out. "Second, it depends how bad it is."

[imafuturist]

"It could have been a lot worse," Tony replied. "But it also could have gone much, much better."

Which was about usual for a crossover event.

[throughaphase]

"That's pretty typical," she said.

[imafuturist]

Tony sighed again as he took a sip of the cocktail. "What did he say about it to you?"

[throughaphase]

"His point of view on the main conflict," she said. "And that you were maybe getting some frustrations out as a cat."

[imafuturist]

"Well, I was a cat. Cats are a little... vocal about things."

There was definitely a cat purring and rubbing against his leg right now.

"But, yeah. I'm upset with him about a few things that came up over everything."

[throughaphase]

"Like things bigger than the initial problem?" she asked.

[imafuturist]

"Yes," Tony said, trying to pick his words carefully. "I would like him to learn to process his emotions rather than repress them all."

And this was Tony Stark saying that.

[throughaphase]

"Oh, that is bigger," she nodded.

[imafuturist]

"Yes," he replied with a firm nod. "But on the plus side for you, he's not on your couch anymore."

And Tony would have to figure this out eventually.

[throughaphase]

"Is he on yours?" Kitty checked.

[imafuturist]

"Other bedroom," Tony assured her. "Not that it's helped with any talking so far."

[throughaphase]

"You'll get there," she told him. "It's just going to take work."

[imafuturist]

Which was much easier said on the outside, of course.

"Yeah," he agreed, looking at the red solo cup for a moment. "We'll see, won't we?"
