Every single one of Summer's iconic pink tank tops seemed to have some nasty, mostly unidentifiable, but oh-god-thankfully-not-actually-blood stain on them that day, but all of her other clothes (of which she still had plenty, of course, she didn't just wear pink, you guys, god) were fine. So Summer was rocking the blue today instead, which meant that Tino thought he was just sooooo hilarious by acting like he didn't recognize her or know who she was.

Until she started to wonder if he wasn't actually just being facetious and annoying.

"Wait, Tino, are you feeling okay? You didn't hit your head or anything, did you? Do you have a concussion? You might want to go to the clinic."

But he just brushed it off and insisted he was fine, see, that stain on his shirt was just syrup, he was totally fine. And Summer had doubts, but also didn't care enough to press the issue, since he still seemed to be doing his job well enough...

Where one bartender may or may not have a concussion, but, really, that's probably not even the worst thing that's happened to Tino this week anyway.

Because it's there, so why not lounge it up?

“I don’t suppose you know how to get ketchup stains out of black clothes?” Goose said hopefully as he took his usual seat at the bar, even his hat had noticeable red stains on it.

He thought it wouldn’t hurt to ask in case this wasn’t a Fandom thing and he really did have all those stains on his clothes.

And Summer was just going to squint at those stains a little. That kind of red? On black?

"That," she declared decidedly, "is not how stains work. But, generally, you want to just sort of dab off the excess, mix some detergent in some cool water, rub it into the stain, and then let it soak for, like, ten minutes or whatever. I think it's just a Fandom thing, though, literally all my pink shirts are covered in 'blood'," yes, you could hear those quotation marks, "stains right now, so unless a war went on in my closet last night, I'm pretty sure it's just a thing that will be gone tomorrow.

"If not," she added, "it's going to be really annoying that there's no dry cleaning place on this island."

“I wasn’t too sure, I thought it was blood at first, that my healing factor had somehow stopped working,” Goose admitted after he listened to Summer’s instructions. “Even though I didn’t check my other clothes to see if they had any stains either,”

Of course he hadn’t.

Every time Stark had changed his shirt today he ended up looking like he'd been shot, a little. After the 3rd or 4th shirt he'd given up. The light brown shirt he'd ended up with had a slightly sticky stain on it.

"Hello, Summer!"

"Hello, Stark," Summer greeted back, with a glance toward that stain. "You, too, huh?"

"So you just...found your clothes had unidentifiable stains on them and just....didn't bother to even try changing into something without them?" Summer asked, just to make sure she was hearing that correctly.

"I didn't get shot," he said quickly. "All of my shirts looked like this all day. So, yes. I think?"

Summer nodded understandingly. "Mine, too," she offered, helpfully. "Well, I mean, not all of mine." She gave her current blue button-down a tug as she looked down at its spotlessness. "Anything pink, though, is just a mess right now. It looks like a fashion massacre in my closet right now."

"But you have so much pink." That was so many possibly ruined items of clothing, Summer!

"Blue is good though. I like blue. I hope this is just today and not one of those weeks where we end up with no clothes left by the end."

That wasn't at all an awkward topic to bring up, right?

Oh, please. Summer was practically an expert at deflecting that kind of awkwardness, especially when...

"Sounds like just a good excuse to go shopping, if you ask me," she pointed out.

...to be fair, a lot of things sounded like just good excuses to go shopping, if you asked her.

"If more of my clothes are covered in sticky things I may have to," Stark agreed. "Although I might need to ask my stylist for help if everything needs replacing."

Or just because shopping with her had been an enjoyable experience.

"Hopefully things aren't ruined. I don't want to need to replace everything. But for now...Starburst shots? Please?"

Steven had given up on avoiding the stains. He'd moved on to trying not to spread them to other surfaces. Though, being Steven, this was met with middling success.

As such when he got to the bar he was immediately distracted by the need to grab a handful of cocktail napkins and use them to try to clean up the raspberry syrup he'd smeared across the bar's surface.

This would probably work better if he wasn't using the same hand as the sleeve the syrup was dripping off of.

And in came the bartender with a nice wet rag to sweep in to interrupt before this turned into even more of a comedy errors, and a dry towel for that dripping sleeve.

"Steven," Summer greeted. "Leaking today, are we?"

"Cheers." Steven took the towel gratefully. "Yeah, looks like. Been happening all bloody day. Well, not bloody I suppose. At least there's that. How are you doing?"

“I suppose,” Watts said, surveying the other patrons of the bar, “it is reassuring to know it is not just me.”

“Hello, you,” Watts greeted. If said greeting was said with a bit more of a mournful tone than usual, it was the ketchup-covered state of his clothing that had done it, not Steven’s presence.

"If something weird and random and, above all else, stupid is happening," Summer declared, with all the authority of someone literally teaching a class on it, "odds of it not being you are definitely in your favor. What can we get you today, Detective? Other than possibly some of the bar towels."

“Let’s keep it on-theme,” Watts decided. “I’ll take a glass of merlot.”

"Your stylist is of the opinion that most of your clothes," not the leather pants, obvi, "needs replacing, regardless, but there's still a lot to be said about a wardrobe that puts bare minimum functionality above all else."

And with that, she cheerfully set down one of each of the Starbursts in front of him.

With that, Summer gave a small, happy sounding sigh. "I do not get to pour actual drinks around here often enough," she said, eagerly fetching a bottle and being rather generous with her pouring in her excitement, "so thank you for that."

A hardship of her own making, true, but still!

"And how've you beeeen?" she asked, setting the glass down in front of Watts. "Fun bloodstain extravaganza notwithstanding."
