When Summer came into the bar that evening, Tino was already there, already ready with his turkey infused vodka, that he'd made himself, because what else were you going to do when it was November? And Summer kind of hated the fact that she was not surprised that this was absolutely a thing he would be doing.

She also kind of hated the fact that she didn't think it was all that bad, actually, when she agreed to do a shot of it with him before things really got going for the evening, and that it worked out nicely that she just so happened to have made a cranberry jello shot that evening, so they should pair together very nicely!

She'd rather not have that kind of synergy with the likes to Tino, but sometimes, working with someone for as long as they had, it was just kind of inevitable.

It had been an interesting few days for Connor. So he was definitely stopping by to enjoy some drinks that evening.

"Hey Summer" he greeted as he sat down. "That is quite the theme you have going there?" he said nodding to the specials board.

"It usually is," said Summer, with her own proud little look over toward the board before her smile bounced back to Connor. "Wanna give the full set a try? It'll throw in the turkey vodka shot on the house if you do."

Connor gave a somewhat cautious look from the board to Summer.

"Just how 'rotten' is the pumpkin one?"

That was the only one giving him serious pause. He was even already considering the vodka regardless.

"Not even a little," Summer assured him, and, as if to prove it, plucked one out and set it in front of Connor. "It's mostly an aesthetic rendering than anything else. I probably should have put that in quotes, too, but, also? It's interesting to see who might be willing to live a little more dangerously."

Or stupidly. Same difference!

"I just thought it was fitting because this is about the time when everyone's jack-o-lanterns probably start looking like disgusting withering creatures of the undead or something...."

She passed a glance over to the zombie band and lifted a hand. "No offense, guys!" she called over. "You guys are great!"

"Why would anyone want turkey vodka?" Stark asked as he took his seat at the bar.

"And why would anyone make it?" Tino was getting such a look right now.

"I can't believe," said Summer, dutifully setting up a line of jello shots for Stark, perfectly fine in assuming he'd come around to trying all of them eventually, so, really, she was just being efficient, "you sit there, knowing me like you do, and still feel the need to ask such questions, Stark. You know perfectly well why."

"Sometimes I ask out of habit, I think," Stark conceded. "I'm not trying any turkey flavored vodka made by Tino."

A pause.

"Or by anyone else." But especially made by Tino.

Summer would be 110% percent down with anyone claiming not to want to try anything made by Tino, much less turkey flavored vodka, but that addendum made Summer pout a little.

"Not even made by me?" she asked, fully confident that Stark would totally try turkey flavored vodka made by her if she asked him to.

Which she never would, of course, but that was beside the point.

It was a slightly-blonder but much-tanner Annie who wandered up to the bar and scrutinized the specials board, after two and a half weeks away in Mexico.

"I'm sure everyone's gonna ask about the turkey thing, but I'm kind of worried about those quotation marks around hot," Annie noted, grinning. "Also, hi."

Like, sure, you couldn't serve jello hot, it was probably just that, but still. Also, that rotten was hopefully figurative.

Look, it was very early when this post was written, you couldn't expect quotation marks around every exceptional detail. Besides, that would just make the specials board look cluttered.

"Oh, good!" Summer noted cheerfully in response. "You didn't get murdered on your honeymoon. I mean that facetiously; please don't tell me someone tried to actually murder you on your honeymoon."

TELL her it wasn't absolutely a possibility.

"And hi, welcome back, it's literally just because hot jello would be a mess, but if you're really bent up about it, I'll stick them in the microwave for a few seconds for you, if you want. Also, what are your thoughts on Good & Plenty?"

It had been on her mind for practically a week now, and she would have texted Annie about it, but she wanted to Respect the Honeymoon.

"I'm good on microwaving," Annie assured her, holding a hand up as she slid onto a barstool, because that seemed like it warranted priority. "But -- okay. First of all, I did not get murdered, of course, but I think Diego would have loved it if someone had tried." So would Annie, honestly. God, please, someone try to stab her or something and watch what happened. "Very little threats to our safety, actually, unless you count manatees and parasailing."

She considered the rest of that, and, knowing she had a reputation to uphold, had the grace to look disappointed. "I'm not actually like, the biggest fan of black licorice, or licorice-flavored stuff," she admitted. "But if you have Good & Plenty you can't get rid of, I'll take 'em off your hands."

It was still candy, okay.

Summer nodded, thoroughly satisfied with literally all of those answers, but, mostly importantly, the empirical truth that Good & Plenty was so bad that not even Annie January Hargreeves liked it.

"Definitely not a problem," she assured Annie. "I was just verifying a suspicion. But, with that out of the way, what can I get you for tonight, and please note that the more you tell me about the honeymoon, the more I'll discount your bill at the end of the night."

"It's not actually rotten!" Summer said, with a long-suffering, but also really-should-have-known-better sigh, rolling her eyes an imploring the heavens to do something about this monster she herself had created. "It's just black jello on top! It's supposed to be cute and tongue-in-cheek!"
