Steven was a little late that morning. He'd made a new friend at Llewellyn's! That was bound to lead to staying longer than a brief visit. Which led to...

... look just never mind when Steven managed to make it to work. The important thing is that he was there and currently trying to draft something for the downstairs display on weekends when people turned into children. This was not helped by how currently there wasn't anything to display. Steven wasn't entirely sure what might work. Toys? Tiny mannequins?

No, not mannequins. No telling what the island would do to them.

Regardless, Steven was at his desk and actually doing something work related. This didn't mean he couldn't be interrupted. Luckily visitors were work related as well.

"Is there? I've not counted," Steven said, just scooting right past the part about Marc. He tried a quick mental calculation, his numbers being slightly off given that he didn't know certain people he'd met were actually from versions of his world. If he had, his count would be higher. "I think six sounds about right? Though that's people where their worlds are very close to ours. For example have you met Miguel? He works at the diner. He's sort of from a version of our world? But he's very far in the future. Difficult to tell if he started from the same place or if it was something else entirely."

"Oh, weird," Scott replied admiringly. "Kitty's kind of like that, too, I guess? She knows a me? Apparently there's a couple versions of me kicking around different universes."

He lifted his coffee, gesturing at the side of his own head. "It kinda messes with you, you know?"

"Kitty's nice as well," Steven said. "I'm taking her class, actually. Trying to learn more about being a hero. And it is mental, trying to imagine different versions of yourself. Still - ah - still getting used to that."

For instance the version of him who was American and sharing his body.
