Once more, Irene could hardly help but feel that she had outdone herself – though she could also quite easily admit she'd had help.

This year, she'd eschewed the usual fluffy Valentine's theming and had instead leaned full-force into having a hookup (ahem) with the blacksmith – every surface was decorated again with beautifully-detailed steel roses, featuring occasional pops of color amongst their petals, and intricate metallic vinework decorated the columns, displays, light fixtures and countertops. Discreet enough to be classy but prominent that there was no missing it, Irene had also affixed little signs crediting Amaya for her work, with accompanying business cards for all your blacksmithing needs.

Off to one side, there was a completely moddable NPC bartender Irene had hired off the mainland, well-stocked with thematic drinks, and to another little side was a table that would almost certainly be described in much more detail in the comments, featuring Summer's shots of varying…shapes.

Tables draped with red and pink satin accents were distributed through the store with the requisite sex-shoppy displays on them -- massage oils near the entrance, vibrators, plugs and dildos up in the middle, and the more intense gear towards the back. Naturally, some of those steel roses were laid out artfully amongst the toys, perhaps in an effort to render the toys less intimidating by comparison. Near to the entrance was a table with a large glass fishbowl and a stack of little slips of paper, so that once again, guests could enter to win one of several amazing door prizes!

Annie -- who definitely didn't have any feelings about wearing a red dress, or about any absent people that red dresses reminded her of -- was more than a little hesitant about entering the drawing.

But also -- like, she'd infiltrated an orgy last year. While certain things were always just going to be private and get her to blush a little, she wasn't scared of potentially winning a box of bubble bath stuff or something. Or, really, what anyone would think of her winning it, either.

And besides. She kinda wanted those daggers for Diego, so in went her name.

"Honey, I want those knives." Diego was nothing if not predictable. "Do you think I can invite my siblings over here and then we have, like, even more of a chance to win them?"

Luther would die of a heart attack if he stepped in here.

"I don't think we'd ever get Klaus to leave," Annie pointed out, eyeing the daggers and looking up at him. "But those are really cool, right? And like, romantic."

Amaya came into the bar sometimes, and Annie had given her that Voughtland hookup awhile ago -- maybe, if they didn't actually win them, she could arrange to see a lady about some knives on her own time.

"It looks awesome," he said. "We'd just have to put it up high. Eventually."

God, the babyproofing they were going to have to do.

This was what they got for taking a very casual, 'it's fine if knives are everywhere' approach for the better part of two and a half years.

"I mean, they seem more like ornamental knives, rather than the kind you'd want to keep on your harness or something, anyway," Annie pointed out. "I have to admit, I was prepared to potentially win, like...that." She pointed to the dildo. "Knives are a surprise."

"I mean, both make for excellent decorations," Diego joked. "Both say class."

They could probably put together a kit exactly like that on their own without much trouble, sure, but that was still the scenario being presented here that appealed the most to Annie.

"That does look fun," he said, leaning in to press a kiss against her jaw. "For the both of us."

"Makes me think of Australia." In case he had any trouble following her line of thinking. Annie leaned into him, sliding an arm around his waist. "Other than the knives, which I'm gonna say are a surprise -- you're keeping your eyes open, right?"

Hey, maybe Annie would be the one who came over to him with something she wanted to take home. That'd be a fun surprise.

"Oh, I've been keeping an eye out," he assured her. "Every time I'm in here I'm like, awed by the variety of stuff. I wonder how much a dildo designer makes a year."

"I mean, that looks like it's made out of something serious," Annie noted, nodding to the obsidian prize. "You could probably break someone's teeth with that thing."

Annie needed to chat with her friend Kimiko more than she did, really.

"But like -- do you think designing is a thing?" she continued, curious in spite of herself. "It's not...you don't think there's like, um, models?"

Some toys, obviously, were just the creation of someone's mind, but a lot of these things looked like they had, uh, accurate inspiration behind them.

"Oh I'm positive there are models," Diego said with a laugh. "And QA testers."

"That," Annie said, her eyes falling on a vibrator -- she was very proud of herself for knowing exactly what she was looking at this time around -- that was in a C-shape (a C-shape that her imagination was going kind of wild trying to apply), "sounds kind of like a dream job."

They were both great at showing approval and appreciation for things; it was the actual, 'Yes, this works, and these are the reasons why' that Annie could not make the leap to.

"That's the second time I've caught you looking at that toy," Diego said, lowering his voice. "You interested?"

"Maybe." To Annie's credit, she did not try to pretend she wasn't interested, and she didn't just implode into a cloud of giggles over it, either. She was very interested in what the hell was going on there -- she had a pretty good idea how to use that (and her instincts were correct), and while it was a little more complicated than the Starlight-branded vibrator she'd cut her teeth on, she also felt like she was comfortable...graduating. "It looks like fun from, um, several angles."

That was a way to put it, Annie, good job.

"What about something for you, though?" she added, slanting a look up at him. Because that looked firmly like an Annie toy, at least given established routines so far.
