Caritas, Monday

Well, Jane had been busy back home for a little bit there, but was raring to go at the bar again.

Much to Tino's obvious dismay.

"Why would I have quit?" Jane asked, frowning at where Tino was sullenly wiping down part of the bar top away from her. "And it was a vacation week in there too, you know."

Not that she'd gone, but. Still.

Ignoring him, she straightened the sign directing people to where the Purim party was in the back room instead.

Ah, rainy Monday.

Well, well, well, looks like the back room of this joint was getting some use after all! It was known to happen! On occasion!

In this particular occasion, the back room was decorated with all sorts of colorful balloons and streamers and a banner hanging over the few tables in the back that would hold all the food and holiday-specific drinks (although going to bug Jane at the bar for something that wasn't wine or jello shots was highly encouraged; Tino, too, if you have to). Even the stripper pole was swatched in streamers like a maypole, and the mechanical bull was dressed up like a cowboy, because that was just funny.

And as for those tables, there were a few of them. The most important one, arguably, was the one featuring a wide variety of wines perfect for the occasion, as well as a few jello shot offerings (of course), the first two made vegan-style, but not so much the last one for obvious reasons: hamantaschen, three-tiered wine, and apple and honey.

And then there was the food table, where anyone can also drop off anything they'd brought to share, but also would include kreplach and hamantaschen with a lovely little placard about them representing Haman's ears and some braided challah with a note about it being like the rope used to hang the guy, too, because, ohmygod, like Summer was not going to include those details? As well as some other totally moddable things, and whatever else anyone brings.

Finally, there was one last table, where people could both give and receive. Receive in the form of little gift bags for everyone with the traditional offerings of little candies, cookies, dried fruits, nuts, and adorable tiny bottles of wine. And give in the form of leaving a donation to a few moddable charities mostly focused on helping the poor and, of course, solving world hunger.

So come on in, show off your costume if you brought one, nosh a little, drink a lot of wine, and have a good time, or else Summer would be very disappointed in you all.

Summer, herself, had stuck with the whole ~QUEEN~ idea, especially after some very helpful consultation regarding the matter, and was flitting about in an absurdly fancy dress and a crown with a glass of wine in her hand that she was determined to never let run dry as she went about not only making sure things went smoothly but also having a good time herself.

Stark had helped with stuffing Summer's bags last night after they'd helped each other choose outfits for tonight.

Somehow he'd ended up in the leather pants, again, a very flowy white shirt which he thought was rather more open than it needed to be, a sash that very conveniently went with Summer's dress, and for reasons known only to Summer, an eyepatch on top of his mask. His black mask from Amaya.

He'd also left some vegan chocolate chip cookies on the food table.

'Somehow.'

And the reasons weren't that inscrutable, really; she just thought it would be funny.

"Stark! You made it!"

This statement was far less one of surprise that he had, because, really, at this point, it was to be expected, and more of a oh thank god we don't have to worry that you'd managed to get yourself kidnapped by rodents again in the last 24 hours.

Shunsui did rather enjoy a party on an unconventional night that meant he didn't have to worry about it interfering with other activities (or napping) that he liked to pursue on a weekend. Also, it was Summer-chan throwing it, which was always more than enough reason for him to at least stop by long enough for her to express her displeasure with his arrival and then see how long it took him to manage to work his way through a jug of sake.

And though he didn't really do costumes, more often than not, he did always appreciate an opportunity to switch up his usual kimono for a night.

It hadn't even been 24 hours, had it? And he'd been with the nurses and the crab most of today!

"Of course I did. Why wouldn't I?"

He wouldn't want to disappoint her after all that work she'd done as his stylist.

And he'd wanted to see if she really did show up as a queen or as one of the other options she'd sent him last night.

"Ugh," said Summer, right on schedule, making a face.

At some point Stark made his way over to the bar to say hello to Jane. He hadn't seen her for a few weeks now and thought he ought to check in.

"No mead specials tonight?"

He'd voted for queen! And queen had been her original plan, anyway; Summer was going to be mildly annoyed if this dress had ended up going to waste for an old costume she'd worn before or one she'd slapped together around a set of cat ears and some leather pants of her own.

"Around here?" she said. "You never can tell."

And now she had clearly slipped into stylist mode, for a moment, narrowing her eyes as she considered Stark thoughtfully. Something wasm't quite...

"Wait. Hold on."

She reached out to make an adjustment, somehow managing to make that flowy shirt slightly more open.

"There." She looked him over again, nodded her approval. "Now you're properly pirate-y."

He was glad she'd gone with the queen outfit though he certainly hadn't minded the pictures he'd gotten off the other two choices last night.

And sure, she was pulling his shirt open in a stylist capacity. No other reason. Obviously.

"Am I? I've never been a pirate before. Am I meant to say 'arr'?"

"Yeah," Summer confirmed, with a faint grin. "Totally. And also 'shiver me timbers' and 'avast, mateys' and maybe you can even tell someone to walk the plank and send them down to Davy Jones' locker."

"I don't think I'm actually going to say any of that," Stark confessed.

"But I'll have a drink, at least." Maybe several, depending on how self- conscious he was feeling tonight.

Anakin came up to the bar with a smile. "Hi, stranger."

"And compete with Summer?" Jane said either a laugh. "No thank you."

"Hello yourself," Jane replied. "I think I see a hint of a tan there, you know."

It was on his knees mostly. Which were hidden away for the safety of all.

"They could have been complementary," Stark pointed out. "But I can understand that. She's hard to compete with for parties."

And hard to say no to, based on his pirate outfit.

"How are you?"

Shunsui would quite be Shunsui if he had managed to breeze in the bar tonight without paying the bartender her due.

"Now don't tell me," he stated with a crooked grin as he swept up, "they plan on keeping a beauty like you behind the bar all evening ♥."

There was a slight pout for the utter lack of Stark fully embracing his newfound piratehood this evening, but it turned into a grin at the mention of a drink. Because she could lift her own glass in agreement to that.

"There's plenty to drink," she assured him, and although there was a bit more than just one gulp of wine left, she made a point to drain it so she could hold the now-empty glass up with a sort of victory. "And it looks like I need a refill, anyway. You want me to bring you something? Or you want to come with and scope out the options for yourself?"

Anakin was dressed a "Guy Who Went to Caritas on Mondays and Forgot There Was a Party So..."

Enjoy those Jedi robes.

Anakin laughed. "Indonesia was very sunny. Have you ever been?"

Big space nerd convention, maybe?
