Raiden would like to have a word with whoever had come up with this Daylight Savings Time nonsense and explain to them that this wasn't how time or clocks or anything was supposed to work. And he should know: he was older than clocks. But someone had decided this was what we were doing now, so here he was, struggling.

Having spent half of last night in Baltimore sorting out a mild shade infestation probably didn't help, but duty called.

"Nice choices," Steve said approvingly.

"Can't go wrong combining two delicious things," Raiden agreed, and then yawned.

Maybe they shouldn't test that theory to its limits.

Like mac salad on spam musubi! Wait. No.

"Which is your favorite?"

"That's like asking me to choose a favorite child, you realize that, right? Not--not that I would eat my favorite child, unless it was pizza." Even he realized, "Wait, that came out wrong."

"Please don't eat your children," Steve laughed. "And, because we're here, please don't try to bring pizza to life and adopt it."

"Oh, no, I wouldn't do that," Raiden assured him. "Because I would want to eat the pizza, but I couldn't, because it would be wrong. It would be tragic." No matter how it ended, either because he was sad he couldn't eat something or because he'd, you know, eaten his pizza offspring.

"A no-win scenario," Steve agreed, smiling. "Let me get a slice of the Buffalo chicken and one of the chili dog."

Steve's stomach would remind him he was close to forty about this later.

"Sure thing, buddy!" Raiden agreed. "Hey, how's Danny?" Was not ordering him pizza a bad sign or like a kindness Steve was doing him?

"Danny's good," Steve said, smiling. "He's just not meeting me for lunch today."

"Ah, his loss," Raiden said.

OR WAS IT?...no these pizzas were mostly harmless.

"His daughter Grace will get in a 'Dad should eat more salads' mood and Danny indulges her," Steve said with a little grin.

"We have salads!" Raiden pointed out.

They were very basic side salad type deals, but they did sell them.

"Oh, pizza salad, now that's a thought..."

"Oooh," Steve said, brightening up at the thought. "Lots of veggies, but also pizza."
