Summer was, admittedly, a little nervous to come into the bar today, wondering how Tino might have responded to her and Jane's little lightly playful but entirely within earshot disparaging of how sad and pathetic he was, and she suspected it was going to have something to do with beets.

But the fact that there was nothing--in fact, there was nary a beet to be found--and that Tino just sort of....went about his work in an inoffensive, almost even pleasant, way, was actually so much worse, because now Summer sort of felt like she was on the defensive for whatever he might spring on her later, which...

Alright, okay, well played, Tino. But she was watching you, she'd be ready for anything you tried to pull, dammit.

Goose was still a bit distracted from his talk with his dad the other day and the news he had been given, so he was a little more dejected when he took his usual seat at the bar … which wasn’t really going to be usual spot for that much longer really.

“Hey,” he said rather quietly as he sat down.

As if an uncharacteristically normal Tino wasn't enough, now there was an oddly reserved Goose, too, and Summer met that greeting with a lift of her brows.

"Hi," she said, already starting to line up some shots for him. "What's up, Goose?"

He hesitated, “I got some news from my dad when I was home the other day,” he said quietly, “it’s …about my next assignment,”

"You made tiny pies again," he said, smiling at Summer as he sat down. "I should save that one for last. Hello, Summer."

"Hello, Stark," said Summer, smiling back and never not pleased to have him acknowledge that he'd noticed when she made tiny pies. "That's a pretty solid plan, but the real question is, which one are you going to do first?"

Steven took a seat at the bar. He looked at the last item on the specials list with the expression of one who wondered if words suddenly meant different things from what he was used to.

"Steven," she then greeted, already reaching for a pint glass. "The usual?"

"Good evening, Detective Watts." Constantly feeling like she was going to get some kind of beet knife in her back at any moment (metaphorical or literal!) aside, Summer was hardly going to miss the chance to chirp back her usual lofty greeting back. "How are you? What can I get for you tonight?"
